George made the right decision by choosing to settle in his homeland👌He has established very strong ties with his neighbors who are mostly family,so admirable ❤Your mum is eager to learn the culture 😊Nice vlog 👍
Muuga Mekenze! Wonderful family bonding time with mothers, daughter and granddaughter helping to make drops. I am so glad you guys are getting such enjoyment from your mother's visit.
Great video. Lovely family. I learn alot from your village videos. The meru people are awesome I need to visit Meru after thiz. Keep up the good work ❤
George is smart for settling down in his ancestral hometown and not going for the big cities. It’s an African thing but know the whole tribe got your back😂
@4:42 while explaining to you mum, it is interesting to note that English greetings like "hello," "hi," "good morning," or "good evening" typically function as singular forms without any explicit plural distinction. The language, unlike Kimeru, does not change while greeting an individuals or groups. It is "hello" whether you're greeting one person or many. Kimeru, singular is “muga” and plural “mugeni.” The distinctions reflect not just language mechanics but also a deep respect for community,l and the social fabric that binds people together.

Apples are grown in Limuru Naivasha parts of Nakuru etc. The ones imported from South Africa are for commercial purposes since what is grown in Kenya is not enough to sell large scale commercially
Nice video! Love your dog, but it would be good to carry some water for him to drink along the way. He was panting quite a bit. He is beautiful-I have known one fully grown and they are massive. Good temperament IF they are properly socialized growing up.
Mackenzie you know what's so funny it seems to be Universal women who have been cooking for a long time it's no measuring spoons and cups I am impressed and amazed every time I see that, I love this this video it showed a lot of your village and how you interact with neigbors. George's mom is so sweet thanks for sharing looking forward to the next video
Mekenze sorry I dont know ... but I think your mom has a mission ... some cooking African food ... I am an adult and my senses are telling me something about her trip to Kenya and issues of "wife cooking African food for her husband ...."
I don't know where African culture of inlaws not visiting their son and daughter inlaws and stopping overnight in same house came from. Even in sickness they still want to keep the tradition. In England I have seen mother and son inlaw go for night out in clubs together. They exchange jokes and even play gay games together.
Of course she was actually speaking to someone.. she had my sis in law on the phone to say hello to us. I really don’t know what to say to the dog on a leash question.. it’s a pretty common thing to walk a dog on a leash..? 😅
@@susaneichmann7015 smh the children are petting it so I doubt it is aggressive. My guess is that it is used to being only within their home compound. So once outside of its home it will be curious of everything and anything around it and due to its size might scare the other villagers. It's not a local breed as you can see and people can be apprehensive. If it was your regular outside neighbourhood dog I doubt they would need a leash as it would already be used to seeing many people and walking all over unsupervised.
Mekenze greeting the locals in their mother tongue is great respect and sense of belonging. I can hear how they appreciate soo much!
Mackenzie you are such a humble daughter in-law that mingles so well with your inlaws❤ something that is not so common in our society 😊😊

In Kenya no actual measurements for any recipe. Just measure til the ancestors say enough 😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Let me tell you Maina🤣

For drop scones, try milk, egg and baking powder.
You and your mum have the same walking style
Very true.
Your dad should visit, I saw in your vlog of his US home, he's got great ideas of what to do with a homestead that he can impart to you.
Most of the tribes in Africa discourage that.
I know things are changing but in my tribe my dad can't come stay with me where i'm married.
We can't live on copy and paste we have to be original sometimes and see them doing a good job with their homestead.
Recipe African style. 😅The eyes are the measuring instrument
You should take mum to Naivasha
We have apples 🍎 nowadays in kenya,I have them at my garden

Not many people know swahili words for the fruits lol😂😂😂
Maybe mostly on the coast??
@ Yea. At mostly the coast you may find people who know Tikiti Maji, Tofaa and the rest. Inland… not so much
African modesty, a man walking around village or farm should have walking stick.
They get apple farm in Kenya there

it's superstitious
Not all African tribes, for example limiri is from Meru and am from their we don't practice that

Am just laughing at ur mum pronouncing some swahili names.George should teach ur mum some meru and swahili words before she leaves.
Why was the dog on a leash? And why’s George’s mum on the phone when your mum arrived? Was she actually speaking to someone?
Of course she was actually speaking to someone.. she had my sis in law on the phone to say hello to us.

Dogs bite that's why they used the leash
