Cocona had been wanting to shave her head for awhile but they said she couldn't do it. Once this song came around they let her go for it because it fit into the concept.

Not just any animal references. The theme is based on wolves, and we are the ALPHAZ. Even the grills the members are wearing resemble the teeth of wolves.

Whoa LEFT RIGHT was the last thing you checked out from them?? Oh man alot has happened since LEFT RIGHT. They dropped a album called "NEW DNA" Almost every song on the album has a MV. They've dropped multiple 'XG VOX' and 'XG TAPES'.. They dropped a winter song to end the year called "WINTER WITHOUT YOU".. They're currently on their 1st ever world tour.. they had a collab song with VALORANT called "UNDEFEATED"... alot and I mean ALOT has happened since LEFT RIGHT ↔️ ! Sounds like you got ALOT of catching up to do.

Pretty much the only thing tying this and Left Right together are that it's the same members and the same producer (Simon aka JAKOPS who is also the CEO of XGALX, their label) and the quality of the music and the team behind them. XG calls their music X-Pop and it tends to be based on Hip-Hop and R&B but they do all kinds of things. Left Right was heavy on the R&B side - other songs that lean that way are Winter Without You (their Christmas song from last December) and most of the XG VOX series (so far there are 6 videos in the series, which are projects from the 3 members of the vocal line, the most recent of which is a cover of Flo's Losing You). On the Hip Hop/Rap side - the XG TAPE series (so far 4 sets for a total of 9 videos [TAPE 1, TAPE 2, TAPE 3A/3B, TAPE 4 Harvey/Maya/Cocona/Jurin/all four(Trampoline)], a side project that Maya and Cocona did called "Show You Can" that was done for the soundtrack of Street Woman Fighter season 2, most of the Hesonoo/X-Gene video). The rest of the songs are somewhere in between - from debut: Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star, Left Right, GRL GVNG (Girl Gang), TGIF, New Dance, Puppet Show, "Undefeated" - a collab with the video game Valorant. What to watch next kind of depends on your tastes - if you want the rap side, TAPE 2, which went viral in late 2022 is a good start, although the 5 short (~1:30 each) videos in TAPE 4 are the closest to "Woke Up". If you want the R&B side, "Winter Without You" is great - and there's a really nice live version they performed on THE FIRST TAKE if you want to hear live vocals.

check out the Galz Xypher from the Rap Line (Cocona, Jurin, Harvey, Maya), VOX 6 Losing you cover (Hinata, Juria, Chisa) and Winter Without You - First Take version where all 7 live on one take. Their on their World tour this year and bringing it. Like they said on Girl Gvng they have no limits.
'WOKE UP' is their first official all-rap track as a group. All their other rap-centric stuff are within their TAPE series and a track made for the "Street Woman Fighter 2" dance crew show called 'SHOW YOU CAN' by Maya and Cocona.

ALL of the members were raised in Japan.
Harvey is half Australian (her name is Amy Harvey; her Aussie lineage is likely what made her the tallest member of the group).
Hinata (the Blue haired one here) is half Korean (and I am pretty sure she is the shortest member).
The youngest member is Cocona (the badass who shaved her head) and she turned 18 years old in December.
So many people who see that video will think Hinata and Juria are the same person because of how amazing the editing and make up is on both of them when they both sing together

No need to be surprised because they are XG and they are called a global group or X-POP for a reason, they can do whatever genre they want and it is very rare/almost no girl group that is as versatile as them.

I recommend X-Gene performance video, you will also be blown away if you like Woke Up vibe. Also, they have always had a GREAT rap line underneath the surface. There are cyphers and special clips focusing on them. Galz xypher tape 2 is a must. I would say GRL GVNG was a harder concept too, not all rap but you can see the vibe.

Have you seen or heard of “Shooting Star” by XG ? Came out around the same time as “Left Right”. HIGHLY recommend it if you haven’t.
Nothing happened, they just wanna showcase their rapping skills more. They're are versatile. Rappers can sing, vocals can rap. Plus they all dance amazing.
