This is part 2 in my Japan series. After I left Tokyo, I made good use of my JR pass and jumped on the train to head to Okuhida Onsen-go, Shirakawago, and Tsumago for the Nakasendo trail.

It was totally fine as a female solo traveller! There were more tourists than I had initially expected but also relatively not too bad compared to other places in Japan where it can truly get overcrowded.
