HAHAHAHAHA!!!! When we started talking about the ant body parts in elementary school... I would always talk about the cubumps!!!! HAHAHA!!! And everyone thought I was weird :) HAHA!! Love this movie
nah, as a performer myself, I'd say she's in the right. He lied about his age in his audition and could have got the band and bar in serious trouble if someone reported it. I'd say she was generous to offer him a spot despite lying to the band.
But the music in this version is a half step higher than the one I first saw, and besides it's bland when compared to "Antz" and "A Bug's Life," but I think even "Ovide and the Gang" is more interesting than anything about animated insects, especially "Miss Spider," which is really aimed at pre-schoolers.
strictly speaking, this movie, along with the rest of the "Special Delivery" block, was created by people unrelated to Nickelodeon, and purchased by Nick to fill space because they didn't have enough of their own original programming. So they "abandoned these types of cartoons" when they _started making enough of their own cartoons to air instead_ Bit different from what Nick, CN, and Disney did later on when they lost their way. I don't think anyone's going to defend this kind of stuff with nearly the fervor they do about the 90s classics.
ActivistVictor No, it was the right thing to do. Shando didn't earn his Ka-bump yet and used deception (putting that fruit on his ass) to gain entry since he was underage. He tricked them and they couldn't allow him into the band even if they wanted so he just wasted their time. It would be like letting a 15 year old musician play in a nightclub with alcohol at 2am, inappropriate. In fact, even though this in general is a good movie, the message is screwed up because later on he uses that mystery egg as a Ka-bump and he goes on to fool the Queen, so no one else questions it but he still didn't earn a valid Ka-bump. It's screwed up!
Yeah that is a bit messed up, but at least Shando felt a bit ashamed of it until the end when he finally earned it. Watching it over, I believe that egg really _is_ his ka-bump all along. But for whatever reasons Shando had to find his externally vs. it popping out like everyone elses' bump. What is messed up is how that egg that failed to hatch (as a normal ant) has been waiting all those years just to become his ka-bump.
Man hearing that song again brings back memories.

Man, Nickelodeon just like Disney and Cartoon Network lost their cool when they abandon these types of cartoons!

It's always great when drum animation is laughably off from the music.
