I believe there was a backup save which is why he felt fine doing it, I don't remember where it was said but it was after the fact
yes they have both said that before the video they transferred the save or whatever, so damian’s game wasn’t actually messed with it was a separate game file on a different device. and damian knew that and played up what he would feel for the video. they’ve said it multiple times and i think once in a reddit video

they still are! people just make assumptions due to damien being in less content since his vo work has gotten busier, but they just recently did the smosh podcast together and discussed how they've been friends for almost 13 years now :) the episode is really good, they read their old so random scripts in it. they also were in reading reddit stories together twice lately and you can tell they're super comfortable with one another as always.
