Taxing the rich puts more money into things like health and education. Otherwise they just horde wealth. Tax the rich, they can afford it. Give back to the communitues. Give dignity to the poor. Tax the rich.

We wish this were the case. Unfortunately, overtaxing the rich actually crushes our economy. These big businesses will move out the state or country before their taxed to death. We've spent quite some time with various business owners to give us a different perspective. Sadly, economics isn't taught in most public schools so unless we educate ourselves we become ignorant to what's actually going on. In other words we feel that the failures start with our education system for not giving us the information needed to even identify the underlying issues. Finally, thanks for watching ! I will just say tho the key difference is I'm from New Zealand. Small country. Unions still have power. Cultural differences. Communities all know each other.... from an American perspective, businesses moving away to avoid tax is a much bigger issue than it is here.
on the topic of taxing the rich:
In 1980, when the highest income tax rate was 70 percent, the richest 1 percent paid roughly 19 percent of the total income tax.
In 2007, when the top tax rate was 35 percent, the tax share of the richest 1 percent was more than twice that amount. Raising the taxes on the rich historically fails; they will just move their business/banking to another country which leads to job losses in the US and less total federal income taxes raised.

I think what he's trying to promote the most in the track is self awareness. Awareness of how we're being exploited, awareness of how we're being divided and awareness of how we're being controlled, mostly through our emotions and ignorance.

talking about that "trickle down effect". I literally had a performance review on my job where i've worked at for over a decade now. I had a stellar year and even my supervisor who gave me the review admitted that he was not at all happy with the raise they gave me as a poor reflection of that. but he said it was the same across the board because the company is preparing to do what they have to to ride the storm of a predicted recession with Biden in office. That's that Trickle down effect and Biden isn't even in office yet. Already the promise of taxing the rich is impacting people.

I'm a conservative, proud of this country and all that it has overcome has been and can be. I truly feel though the only way for it to survive is for us all to come together in the middle and leave all the left and right BS behind us. I know that is a tall order, sincere and good-intentioned people on both sides, toxic corrupt and power-hungry on both sides too. Media is trash, but we all get to choose whether they divide us or we unite ourselves.

The poem "The Cold Within" by James Patrick Kinney. It is a must read. It should be taught in schools...(It was taught in my school and I am from Asia). That poem is a treasure. So simple yet so meaningful.
When you said about how people put themselves into a category and antagonize people in other categories, it reminded me of this poem. If you haven't read it, please do check it out.
You hit the nail on the head with the taxes. If people think Biden increasing taxes on the rich and corps will help the poor, they are mistaken. It will actually make the poor poorer.
While high taxes on corporations may annoy a company like Walmart, any challenger upstart or established likely doesn't have the same financial security to weather the storm. Its an endurance game to see who starves first and the biggest companies have the advantage of their own personal buffet. All it does is make it seem like you are doing something to stick it to the Amazons of the world, but in reality: you are just setting up a perfect feeding ground for them to scavenge the remainders of their competitors when they fall. If you actually wanted to go after the big corporations, taxes would have to be almost tailor made for each company- which is highly discriminatory, and likely illegal.

No one pays taxes but the consumer, that's us. When politicians say they are raising taxes on corporations or the rich the corporations pass the cost on to us. And the pols know it.

Thank you for the Economic comment you NAILED it that is what I keep telling others I’m lower middle class and I know that in business the one percent is not about to go without so exactly you tax them more it effects the ones below.
People also miss the fact that companies as they get taxed higher they will also increase the price of the items they are selling to make up the difference. So that affects the poor and middle class.

The best way to understand current events via media: Watch multiple media sources and take note of specifically the statements of fact being made and cross reference to determine what can be considered true, IGNORE THE EDITORIALIZING ABOUT MOTIVE. Once you have a good grasp about the details of a given event, its at that point where you as a sentient being capable of intelligent thought to determine the likely motive behind said events- not the media. This is how you can best analyze the situation.
The flaw with this approach is that it requires each individual to actually take the time to research and understand a given topic well enough to make an informed decision, which gets difficult for the busy or the extremely lazy. So taking the intelligence equivalent of McDonalds meal in major media reporting may not be the most substantive, but certainly is more convenient.

I was a criminal when I was young but I realize now that the police typically work the same areas every day and know exactly what is going on but cant do anything try to control bad situations unless they can show evidence or get witnesses. They are just doing a job and in my day we still had some respect. It was like the whole honor amongst thieves deal. There is no honor anymore just hate and deflection

Media is power and power is not bipartisan. They would never allow a media that exposes both sides, it would win in ratings and offer people more choices than 2 sides, imagine having 5 viable options to win in an election instead of polarizing 2 sides against each other.
You two are awesome and great to watch esp for the thought provoking views on different things in all the music you react to. ive voted for both parties in the past. ive also held my vote because i didnt feel good about any of candidates. I have my OWN views.. and my OWN thoughts. some are viewed as "conservative" and some may be viewed as "Liberal" but i view them as MINE. period, end of story.
