My first real teacher (QUITE a few years ago) encouraged me to listen to many of the great pianists from the earliest days of recording. Landowska figured prominently. I have loved so many of her performances for several decades! This one wasn't available back then. She was very special!
Wonderful! One reviewer in New York, back in the 40s or 50s, referred to her "faultless rhythm" (I'm paraphrasing). Of course she takes liberties with rhythm for expressive purposes, but, as I like to say, "you have to know the rules before you can break them."
Thank you so much for this upload, this is beautiful and reminds me how my Master played and how he insisted in taking your time to be expressive with each sound and rest. Thanks

Thank you.
Landowska =
Amazing performance. She doesn't play as if off to a fire. On a modern piano in really good preparation this would still hold up. Thanks and best
2nd mov in particular beautiful

Well played, but what a dull piece. Dussek, by comparison, is wild.
