    7:00 The 1B umpire making the call at the plate was about to call the NY runner out. Watch his body motions until the moment he glances at the SD catcher holding up the ball. Then, suddenly, he says the runner is SAFE?!
    The ESPN crew in the booth seemed to think replays would show the ball falling out of the SD catcher’s mitt. Then they watched it from every angle, and saw that the ball NEVER CAME OUT. They were about to agree on that when the umps decided to stick with their mistake. 🤬
    Kids are kids. We’re not supposed to expect them to act like responsible, professional adults. We ARE, however, supposed to expect that of the umpires!

    • @SportsFreak217
      @SportsFreak217 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      It’s the right call. The catcher never had full control of the ball. You need to have clear and convincing evidence to over turn the original call.

      Garbage Call

    • @brianmeen2158
      @brianmeen2158 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      It was the right call as the catcher trapped the ball between his glove and the dirt - he didn’t not have control of the ball. Very good call by the ref

    • @AdderTude
      @AdderTude 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@brianmeen2158
      But even after the runner's foot collided with the glove, the ball was still trapped in the glove itself and never popped out. It doesn't need to be fully inside the glove to count as having control. MLB has overturned similar plays for less. Bad call.

    • @joshpeterson3884
      @joshpeterson3884 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Definitely a bad call. That ball didn’t move one bit. I could see if the ball popped out of the mit at any point but it didn’t look like it moved at all. Plus the runner didn’t even look like he touched home plate for a while…

    Once again the Umpire SCREWED another team shifting the momentum to the other team! Either its rigged or their just incompetent! That boy was out at home, if you look he never touched home plate before the boy got control of the ball again but they called him safe? Wack. I feel sorry for that team man, they worked way to hard to just lose it to another bad play caller! Not to mention the interference call on that play to 1st that should of been called! I don’t like that the Midwest and southeast are both 8 team regions yet all the northeastern teams get to compete in 4 team regions. Seems pretty biased to me for certain states to have a much higher likelihood of making it to Williamsport than others. Same with the 10 team formats once in Williamsport. Teams with a bye the first game automatically are put into the winners bracket game. Format needs to be fixed.
