    At Music Farm we planted redwood seeds from the General Grant tree. Thousands of them over the years. In 2013-2016 we had 1000+ in small pots. Almost 100% success rate, too. It was a harmless obsession. Music Farm was near Shaver Lake. 1200sqft,3 stories all gone, dust. A half gallon jar of General Grant seeds burned. And more. That was a lotta seeds

    I planted a approx. Six year old giant Sequoia about 2 week ago. I got it from a nursery and it was about 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. I got it for only $97, that is a steal, and only about 2 miles from where I live in Washington state. I could not believe it. Thinking about getting another one. I have planted a number of evergreens but never a GS, I will be wearing a long sleeve shirt next time, that thing scratched me up pretty good. Great video by the way.

    How did they grow so fast at a young age? I've seen a video from a Dutch guy who planted a sequoia tree in like 2009 and after 9 years his trees are smaller than yours in 2013. btw. I have bought giant sequoia seeds, and I want that my tree gets normal sunlight during the day, and light from grow lights during the night. Is that possible? if yes, what color of LED should I use? can I also use a hydroponic system to grow it until it is big enough ?

    • @paddyplants4157
      @paddyplants4157  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      yes you can do that, I also used a special UV light but i think they grow the best at full sun light. You also have to look for relitively big pods because sequoias have very fast root growth. With the correct conditions these trees can grow really fast. Also you have to plant them outside as soon as they have a 1cm thick trunk because root growth will get to fast for any pod t handle properly, so the tree won`t choke it self. I also planted all of my Trees in spring or mid summer so they have time to adapt for their first winter outside.

      Ich habe sie bisher immer trocken in den Kühlschrank gelegt. Das macht man um den samen den Winter vorzugaukeln. Wenn man sie danach in lauwarmen Wasser vorquellen lässt "denken" die Samen es wird Frühling/Sommer und sie legen los. Den Vorgang nennt man auch "Stratifizieren".

      Demon Uchiha were pine trees grow well, bamboo doesn’t. Keep in mind pine trees like these need cold winters. Bamboo can’t stand the cold.

    Зачем сажать в России эти заморские экзоты. По-моему, наши сосны и лиственницы гораздо более органичны и красивы, тем более для нашего, русского пейзажа.
