- In a nutshell, the MG Hector Plus is the six-seat, three-row derivative of the Hector SUV we’re all familiar with. MG Hector Plus prices start at Rs 13.4 lakh and top off at Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom, India), meaning it’s about Rs 40,000-65,000 more expensive than equivalent versions of the standard Hector. Is it worth the extra money? Nikhil Bhatia finds out.

So basically, earlier Hector could seat 5 adults, Hector + can accommodate 4. Good Job MG!!!
Hahahha true
Nailed ! Lol
2+3+2 would have been a better idea
😂
And less boot space
That horrible 'internet inside' badge reminiscent of the old 'intel inside' logo of intel is the epitome of cringe. It is as good as those 'no fear' cheap stickers we used to see on indian cars back in the day. And you end up paying north of 15 lakhs for this😆
Couldn't agree more ...
Gravitas: hold my beer 😁
7 seater Creta is on the way..
Gravitas: when will tata launch me -_-
Even 10 lacs Ertiga having much better 3rd row space. Hector plus should have been atlest 150 mm longer then Hector.
🤣🤣
Bro i am a 6 footer..Forget Ertiga in XL6's 2nd row i was not comfy at all...Let me tell you Xl6 is a bit taller and longer then Ertiga in size and slightly Wider..With that said i didn't had the guts to try Xl6's 3rd row..Not a Huge MG fan neither a Maruti hater,,but telling you the fact..So if you think Ertiga or Xl6 3rd row's are better then MG highly mistaken bro..
XL6 will be much better if you want captain seats. Otherwise Ertiga serves the purpose
@@manavnagpal3361 I being a 5'10" don't like to sit in the last row of any car nor am I comfortable sitting there (talking about our crysta) . But have seen the last seat of Ertiga I feel hector plus is slightly smaller than that. In that price bracket hexa is the best though..
Maruti cheap Bro
MG is owned by SAIC Motor based in Shanghai, China.
Thank you for the general knowledge
So? These are manufactured in India Chinese cars to be boycotted are Volvo are they don’t have manufacturing plant in India
@@samy8897 Volvo is gold man
@@samy8897 DO YOU Know ,mass production companies need to have a plant in india, well i know u dont know, and plz go and study, how much share they send back to their country, means parent company, and volvo yearly sales maximum 10k,and mg??
@@samy8897 but pretty much all Volvo's are made in Sweden not China. And most of their taxes go to the Swedish Government/Indian government not China.
MG has been going to gym and skipping leg days😂🤣
Bigger alloys would justify the size🤷🏻♂️
You mean Hrithik Roshan?
This is been sold as an mpv, and mpv have smaller wheels like innova has 16 inches not even 17
Tata Gravitas... Where are You? Watch this review and come fast... You have a chance in this segment...
Innova - is this a "competitor"? 😂
Gravitas - 4 more months baby.. 😂
Serious doubts on durability as it’s a Chinese car, will wait for Gravitas
@@SACHINKUMARSINGH01 go for it brother 🙌
Once upon a time harrier was also laughing at Hector. Now we know the sales figure of both 😏
Everyone says this whenever a new tata car is launching, and then no one buys it
@@carzestindia626 7 seater Creta - 9 more months only..!
Curious to see Hector's sales considering the current Chinese sentiments.
Last month Hector outsold Harrier
The Hector sold around 1500 units and the Harrier sold around 500 units.
As of June 2020, the MG Hector was the 8th most selling SUV, outselling rivals like Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
No such effects, it still leads the segment. Beacause the car itself speaks, people are not fool who will spend around 20L for other cars w.r.t Hector/+ which give much more latest tech & feature.
Most people are not even aware that MG is Chinese. They think it's british
Harrier Dark Edition looks damn cool, much better than the Hector
Ya even price looks good
Pricier too
I see no point in buying a hector plus considering its last row of seats space, it's only for kids of 5.5 feet only. Where as marazzo is a full fledged 8 seater still is lesser in length by some 120mm.
Don’t compare marazzo with hector bro. ✌🏻
All space is just for the engine section, lmao
Marazzo is not as lengthy as the hector plus over all but marazzo has larger cabin bcz of the small snout / bonet of marazzo ..... Hectors size is half occupied by the bonet
Angshuman Kalita true but you wont get a micromax tablet in marazzo😂😂
Yes.....
Marazzo, Innova crysta, Ertiga is the True 7 seater.
Touchscreen is like a TV tilted 😅
I remember my KG schools slates
😂
when MG says third row is for teenagers
they actually meant 13 year old kids
Technically teenagers
Hehe😅😅
Yep
Judging by the comments here, it looks like Tata Gravitas is going to break all the sales record when it gets released. I'm curious to see the 'Comments to sales' conversion ratio. 😂
Yep sales matter than good comments ..people should buy saftey and value for money vechiles .😉
I always wonder that. Based on comments on Autocar posts, I would expect the Harrier to be the best selling car in India. Strangely it isn't.
All these people who comment about Tata etc are the ones who do it just for the heck of it . Tata harrier is a failed model (in terms of sales) , and gravitas will follow . No one wants to spend more than 20 lakhs for a Tata car , the branding nor the symbol appeal to that segment of customers , and hence the result of poor sales.
Harrier is 5 seater and is brutally mogged by others in its category.
Creta, brezza, seltos
It will not as there will be price difference of 5+ lac rupees
Innova laughing again. 🤣
Innova mileage😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Innova sales dropped a lot after, ertiga, xl6, marazzo, kia carnival came
They use to sell 10000 innova units per month before.
Now only 3000-4000 units of inmova are getting sold , the alternage cars all togehter have dented the innova sales
@@myt3734 its obvious that when u have alternative to something then the demand decrease substantially ... But point to note is that even all those mpvs n many more can't grab the market leader position from Innova , despite it being thr pricier among them
Innova is roughly 200% and more costlier than this . .compare Apple to apple ..please dont do wrong comparison in social media.
What about marazzo .. price wise quality wise ?
Gravitas laughing behind the mask😝
Sohom Saha and then again losing when Tata will price it 1-1.5 lakh more over the hector plus
Now tata will postpone gravitas... when they would have come to know wat features hector is giving...
@@krishchaudhry2222 5 lakhs plus
@Krish Chaudhry doesn't matter..whenever tata comes up with a product..it is quality one..enough to break the grounds of the foreign investors💥
I like the captain seat and gesture mode opening tailgate. Love this feature!
0:46 That blue sky and green landscape reminded me of the Windows XP wallpaper!
Would prefer TATA Harrier over this..
Any day
Pricey!
Harrier is overpriced, especially Automatic Transmission variants. Hector Sharp AT cost only 22la OTR & you will not even get the mid variant XZA of Harrier for that price.
Piyush Chaturvedi Indian brand and strong build quality
worst in segment quality wise, even ertiga triber doesnt have panel gap like 20 lakh harrier, jeep compass if u have the money else ertiga, hector not bad. tata, rattling box of screws.
Wait for tata hexa Safari edition 2020 🙏
This concept is best and suitable for families.
Yes, of course u r right
5:00 me: MG when will the corona pandemic end?..
Waiting for review of Gravitas & Xuv 500...🇮🇳
Is the only way you entered into third row of mg hector plus?
If yes than deffinetly it is tough for adults
You can bend the second row seats too..
2nd row should tumble for access to 3rd row. surprised he wanted to access the third row like that 😂😂
Considering how smartly MG has priced it, it can outsell the normal Hector..But It's Chinese Ownership might play a spoil sport..Hope to see Gravitas launch soon..
What I really like about Autocar India is that the cinematography is a way too fabulous...it's like it gives those exciting vibes upon viewing such visuals....and yeah...reviewing is one of the best! Hats off guyz!!!
Make on Tucson facelift
Yes
It is already launched
Yeah, It will look amazing with the new look black grill design, Personally, I like the captain seat and gesture mode opening tailgate. Love this feature!!
🤩🤩🤩
I was waiting for the car
But disappointed...rather they deceresed 1 seat . ...not the 6 seater ....became 4 seater....
Body roll looks very prominent. Circumspect about service
Body roll is not very prominent but it is not a comfortable as harrier and the service is very good and it can vary from dealer to dealer👍
Baojun 530. Old Chinese disproportionate Body with Fiat engine. Do we really need it? When We have great car's like Harrier, Gravitas, Seltos, Creta and more coming from our beloved Mahindra.
Harrier again.... So tired lol
OMG 😱
I just googled that car BAOJUN 530 and its the same as the Hector
Really very shocked to see this!!
MG is just selling a copycat version of the Chinese Hector in India
Even the alloy wheel design of the Chinese model and the Hector sold in India is same
See no one cares. People gonna still buy it.(I too have disliking for Chinese brand)
And in their MG showrooms
They proudly say that our Hector is designed in Britain and made in India
Total lies!
Xuv 500 2021!!!! Waiting for the beast
3rd row is useless! What's the point of having a 'plus' then ?
Last row pe compromise hi karna hai to triber hi le lo 😏😏
Innova's third row is pretty comfortable. Even Ertiga's third row is better than this 😏
Also, Tata...
This is the really a pressing point that MG should take a look
Triber toh 5 lakh
Mai mil jati hai hector plus Ka 20 lakh kyu dey koi
Convert it into bed. 😂
Hector has launched its PLUS version, and fans are rushing for the seven-seater car. The current Chinese factor for hector doesn't even matter for fans, still, sales are more than its rival SUV brands.
MG Hector had 5kmpl mileage acc to AutoCar Indi
Makes me wonder about the Plus model 😂😂
Its been years & the technology has grown too, still no company is able to rival INNOVA. That alone shows the power of a Toyota engine & comfort in it.
Am I the only one who thinks they could've increased the tyre size a bit more?
The treatment of tan is questionable. Its too much to my liking. Specially on the dash. The sunroof and the touch screen is truly the highlight.
I used TATA Indigo and Manza. Always I experienced electronic part goes out of order very fast. Engine check option is a headache. But I turned to Duster which given nice trouble free service for 6 years and sold for 5 lakhs. Now I am going for Hector plus.
Gravitas has few things better than hector but also lacks in features which are actually helpful i.e panoromic sunroof, Powered Tail gaite, 3rd row space are comparatively lower than Hector, and also lacks is boot space.
tbh, there is nothing like a third row in the hector, even teenagers will have difficult spending time there ,so this is just a five seater, and if you want to buy five seater car then there are a lot of option, also it is no family suv as a family has minimum 5-6 members,so if you want a family car rather buy any other mpv
If MG would have remained a British company than it would have sold like hot cakes in India!...
It's still selling much better than others
i like in love my favorite toyota fortuner
This looks way better than original hector I WOULD BUYYYY
Hi, does Hector Plus 6 Seater have isofix seats in the last row? Or is it only on the mid row, captain seats? Thanks
So the production team has started using ND filters?
Good, The video quality is improved.
All time fav
Waiting for tata gravitas ......pls do it soon
Could you please review the CVT variant’s performance and fuel efficiency.
Can you suggest is this mg hector plus is good to buy, and which one is better in hector plus, petrol automatic or diesel manual
The bottom indicators Light position may easily chance to break white accident or small bit oan object
Videography is excellent... nice anchoring....
Indians in TH-cam: Go for Tata Harrier or wait for Gravitas(which are both way more expensive than MG or Kia)
Me looking at sales charts: Tata nowhere making profits except with Nexon. *Poker face*... While MG and Kia are topping their segments..
Ahem
Cheaper products are always attractive for Indians but this fact doesn't make Harrier or Gravitas bad product anyway. Real enthusiasts will go for Harrier rather than MG or Kia. 🇮🇳
If you talk sales chart, Maruti Suzuki (tin ka dabba) which usually gets top on number but failed to score stars when tests for safety ratings. Truth is clear...sales figure says the story of cheap quality in India.
It's always the Nationalists asking people to buy Tatas. But look at harrier, it's more expensive so why would someone but it if you're getting something that's cheaper.
Take it to mountains with all 6 passenger and tell us about how it drive there.
This MG cars won't compete with other suv of this segment unless they have a diesel AMT option.
Hexa or gravitas or hector+
For family pls reply every one
My pick is hexa ✌🏻
Band ho gye bhai teri hexa march mein 🤪
Hexa wil relaunch with BS6 later this year
same my pic is tata hexa safari edition 2020!
Interms of features it's a great car to buy but Bold and butch look with beefy tyres is what it needs to topple the segment. Well right now it's like a fancy MUV with attractive colour options.
Does it have hill hold button?
Can you please do a review on the thar 2020 hardtop
Cant wait for Gravitas to be launched! it would certainly be a better car!
When will you do a crysta 2.4 diesel automatic review?
Could you a do a comparison of the new nexon facelift with venue and ecosport?
Xuv500 and MG hector plus which one will be best for family?
Which has a better engine? MG Hector plus's 7 seater diesel variant 2.0 or XUV 700's 7 seater petrol variant 2.0? Please explain how and which will provide better efficiency in terms of mileage?
Should have got a bench seat in second row as an option so it could be used as an 7 seater .
There’s a lower variant that has 7 seats. Pfft.
THE THIRD ROW SEATS ARE LAUGHABLE.😆😂😂
3rd row is a joke.
They should of take notice from new Nissan X trail where it can accommodate 3 ppl at middle row and it's also sliding forward and backwards. The 3rd row is for kids, like small Nov use to be so should be branded 5+2 not really a 7 seater
Why you guys have not reviewed nexon 2020 petrol and diesel?? I'm waiting for it. Kindly do it
HERE COMES THE AUTOCAR india STICK OF TRUTH
mg should improve third row space
Even top spec Triber which is from a different segment and costs nearly half of the hector plus has done away well with the third row engineering...
When will you get the review of the dzire facelift
Seats are seems to be quote social distancing. 😂😂
The LED strip looks much better on the Hector Plus
Amazing and mass look
Innova is still better as a 6 seater... Innova reigns this segment
People who work in the showrooms are service centers of MG are Indians. MG pays taxes to the Indian Govt. It may be a Chinese owned Company, but if a company is allowed by the govt to sell products in India, that means Indians are benefiting from the sale of its products. So the people commenting here to boycott MG, please learn some basic economics. Whichever car feels the best to you as per your budget, buy it; it doesn't matter if the company is Chinese or Japanese or Korean. If you buy a Tata car, you won't contribute anything extra to the economy. Moreover, if you actually boycott MG cars and that results in the company closing down its business in India, that would be a huge loss to the Indian economy- people will lose their jobs, trade deficit will raise problems etc. So the keyboard commandos ranting on the internet "Boycott Chinese", go and learn some basic economics
No video release of mg hector plus off-road ride ? Please release a new vidoe which show off roading performance...
They should increased the length
Will wait for the Gravitas...
Bro my ride is 15 km on haighway and 8km in city daily which bike should i buy ,budjet is 400000
I like that volvo xc 90 large screen
What is the turning radius?
Captain Seats In Hector Plus means to prevent COVID-19. AM right?
Hexa is most comfortable 7 seater.
No way is this giving any competition to Innova Crysta. I am sure even Tata Hexa is a better product than MG provided Tata markets it well. Even with some addons the Mahindra Marrazo will outshine the MG.
Please bring video for Comparison between Hector and Hector Plus
Mahindra does 7-seaters the correct way. They provide a door at the back and have side facing seats.
No doubt it's very good looking and priced nicely... All said and done, the ride quality is sad... If you want to keep having nausea all the time, hector is yours..
comparison video of hector plus with Maruti xl6 would be good.
hello
best of luck to all the students waiting for their results
4 adults plus 2 kids or else 4 adults and 1 adult sleeping, grt job mg
Good work
We have grown men fighting over family SUVs here in India
I like that they are giving turbo petrol instead of Natural Petrol
Ideally 4 people can sit comfortably.. means it’s hector minus 😆
atleast this time they Could have increase the size of the wheels.
whats your location of shooting this video ?
Does mg hector plus ventilated seats ??
The Car Is Looking Beatuful
Which song is there in starting of the video..??
