As an old carpenter I have bled many times during my work....but this is the coolest bleeding I have ever done. Thanks again for a great lesson made doable. I got some more fat tone!
how do i send you a video clip of my amazing harmonica skills (thats a joke ... but i have improved greatly... maybe you could comment and direct me to which video i need to study.. u mentioned renting one or something. anyway wish u were here in San Diego so I could take private lessons.. you are awesome. please help. thanks lee.
+Lguapogreengo Christian Music Hi, your comments are very flattering. Difficult to direct you without knowing your playing and what you're trying to achieve. I'm exploring offering Skype lessons. Email me at info@leesankey.com if you are interested. Lee
+Mike Ziemba Thanks. There's always something to work towards, that's the point. I hope to make some more progress on the book this year. My business career has been taking priority. If you would like to be on my emailing list for updates email me at elist@leesankey.com
Always refreshing to come across someone who plays the harmonica the correct way up, like myself... Most people play it upside down, with the numbers on top, bunch of weirdos innit...
It's just a bog standard Hohner Rocket. Their low end model. Hohner had sent me a couple to try out if I recall. You can still get a nice sound out of these harps if you have your tone down. Easy to play. Lee
Salut from sunny, hot and humid Montreal, my fellow harmonica learning players and a huge hello and thank you to Lee for all of these extremely well thought out and made videos. I may be the only player experiencing a drug-like feeling from the hyperventilating. I have the benefit of being a life-long woodwind player so tone, embauche, bending, smearing, tonguing my only problem is to speed which practice making it easier with time.
Howdy from a typically grey London. Thanks for your lovely message. There are so many harp tutorials out there now, glad mine grabbed your attention and are helping out in some way. As a long time musician you'll be well familiar with the importance of practise so I won't bore you with advice that will be obvious to you. Best wishes, Lee
Hello Lee, thanks for this lesson of secrets revealed! I think it'll help my playing to get thrickness. Would you explain if there is a difference with ghost chords please because it's not clear for me. Thank you.
+Lee Sankey I'm not shure, that's the pb! It's about some draw or blow chords discretely played in addition to the tab which give consistency to the piece, generally supporting the rhythm of the score.
Hey Kit, thanks for enquiring about new courses. I have a couple in the works, should be available in the New Year. Email me at elist@leesankey.com to hear when they're out.
Before your lesson, I think I've never heard or read anything about tongue flutter. Can you confirm to me that the flutter sound I can hear in the video is created without adding vibrato? And if you permit, I would like to be sure to do the good movement for this: is it one time hole number 5 open for draw sound and one time 3 holes 3-4-5 open for draw sound repeated very fast? Sorry if it's a beginner question...
+Tom minou Really? It's a very common move. I posted a two lessons on the Flutter and Switch a few years back. Take a look they may help. th-cam.com/video/IN_wTvPhK-o/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/rxGljINAEig/w-d-xo.html
Hi Allan, they are two different things. Tongue Blocking is an alternative technique to lip pursing for your embouchure. It's another way to control the air flow to achieve single notes and other sounds. Take a look at my 25 lesson course on Tongue blocking if you are interested. The first video gives an overview of what tongue blocking is that you may find useful. th-cam.com/play/PL62DB037B81B15454.html
Lee! Thank you for your videos! I have a problem, maybe you could help me out. When I tongue block, my lips get dry very soon, so i can't move around the harmonica as fast as I need. I know I'm supposed to use only the inner part of the lips, but I manage to do it only when i play 3 holes at once. If i try to take a 4 holes chord, the corners of my mouth need to embrace the harp. So it's been 3 weeks or so, i've learned how to bend tongue blocking and to play some songs using tongue blocking, but this problem is still bothering me. So I decided to ask you for advice. Am I doing something wrong, maybe my mouth is too small, ahah, or will it just fade away with the practice? Свернуть
I know this sounds insane to a lot of Harmonica players, but i cannot stand Little Walter,i hate his sound But i wanna learn this technique , as I imagine I may be able to do some Hendrix stuff with this Does that make sense
How have I only just come to this nugget? A masterclass Lee! Thanks so much

Great teaching, many thanks. This is tricky stuff. You used the technique (amongst others) on your 'country blues instrumental' vid to great effect!
+Andrew Findlay cool. It has lots of applications. Let's you shape and control notes in a different way. Lee

+Tony Stephens Hi Tony, glad this hit the mark for you. Tricky to offer tips for experienced players. Lee
Hi Lee, another great lesson thank you! I'm not recognizing the Hohner you're playing - may I ask if it's a custom?

Brilliant stuff, Lee, as always! Is there any news on your news Vimeo series? All the best, Kit.
