I think that is the biggest factor, but also maybe that he has not shown the necros until t3 with skellimages so they couldnt adjust fast enough and that team 2 thought that they can win with air superiority and commited too much on that.
I was very strongly of thenopinjon that Shaman > Dryad > Banshee > Sorc, but I'm starting to consider whether Banshee is as good or better than Dryads.

Banshee is generally better than dryad in terms of utility but sometimes dryads immunity to magic and piercing attack matters

The A.I. often won't aim the wave very well, so I think aura is better
