Thanks for your comment! You're absolutely right. The original key is E Major, although I usually play the D transposition.

@@ClassicalPianoAccompaniments I guess it depends on which instrument is playing the melody. Violin: E major. Lower-register instrument (e.g. cello, trombone, etc.): D major. I just started learning the trombone, and I would like to play this in E flat major! (as the tenor trombone is pitched in the key of B flat)
