  • Thank you for joining us for Week 2 of this new Sermon Series on Rejection. Today we continued learning about Rejection and how it is often introduced into our lives. Rejection most often comes in at least by one of these three ways: Generational; During Conception; While in Utero, however this is not an exhaustive list.
We also touched on the fact that everyone will experience Rejection at some point in their lives. No one is exempt. We are given examples throughout the Bible in stories such as those of King David, Samuel the Prophet, King Saul, and of course, Jesus Christ, and the Apostles. But as we identify how Rejection enters in, we can start to be free from it’s hold on our lives.
Generational Rejection stems from Sin in our Bloodline or ancestry, and is passed down from parent to child throughout the generations, until someone breaks it. David cried out to God in Psalms 51 to cleanse and forgive him of his Iniquity. This Generational rejection is first evidenced in the Bible in the story of the Garden with Adam and Eve, when they rejected God (remember from week 1 that Rejection turn to Rebellion) and then passed their sin onto their son Cain, where it became Iniquity that continued through his bloodline. In Numbers 14:18, the Lord says that He will visit the Iniquities of the fathers unto the third and fourth generations. Iniquity here is the Hebrew word AVAH which means Crooked, twisted, Bent Over, Troubled, Perverse, and applies to anything that has turned away from God’s Straight & Perfect Path. When we reject God, we allow Iniquity to follow us through our generations.
Conceptual Rejection can happen based on the Timing or Manner of how you were conceived: A baby conceived out of a Lustful relationship, out of wedlock, as a product of Rape or Incest, conceived when one or both parents did not want to conceive and even the parents inability to be able to provide for the child. All of these are open doors for the Spirit of Rejection to enter in and attach to the baby.
Rejection while in Utero is a result of the Actions of the Mother and Father (and even those around them), while the baby is yet in the womb. Some ways rejection enters in at this time, may be due to talks or attempts of Abortion or even adoption, Mother or Father not wanting to be pregnant or be parents, the parents wanting a child of the opposite sex, Relationship problems between the parents, and even traumatic events the mother experiences while pregnant (such as a car accident)
The good news is, that Jesus came to set you free. Isaiah 53:5 - But He (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our Iniquities, the punishment of our peace was upon Him (He paid the price), and by His Stripes we ARE Healed.
We hope you enjoy this message. Join us next time as we continue to learn how Rejection affects us and our families, and how to be Released from Rejection, once and for All.
