The reason why peoples injury hurt before the weather is about to change suddenly and radically is because of the air pressure also changes quickly in the atmosphere.
A nice detail is that before learning his backstory, Zuko's lieutenant refers to him by just his name, but after learning his backstory, the lieutenant refers to him as "sir" Also, a detail the Netflix series added that I think was a stroke of absolute genius, is that they have Firelord Ozai make Zuko take the division he spoke out for, the 41st, as his crew
You right, aang learn from the past. In the past he in run away mind that why he frozen himself to run away from the world. But now he learn to not run away but face it, so now he only make air bubble to save the world (his friends).
The question about the water temperature when Aang froze himself vs. now isn't something most people consider but I agree that was the determining factor. In both situations, he used airbending. We know he used airbending instead of waterbending the first time because Katara cracked it open so easily because only the outer shell was ice. If the whole thing was completely ice all the way through, she could never crack it open in a few hits with a bone club. Plus, once she cracked the outer shell, a bunch of air was released further supporting that he used airbending to create an air bubble and the edges of the air bubble froze. When Aang got frozen, he was somewhere between the Southern Air Temple and the South Pole which are already pretty close to each other so it was undoubtedly a cold region if not polar. In the previous episode, Sokka mentioned that it is "the dry season"; the wet/dry season distinction occurs closer to the equator where it's hot all year-round. This lets us know that they are still close enough to the equator that we know the temperature will be warmer. This part, I'll try to explain in a way that avoids spoilers: in both situations, Aang was in his glowly eyes form. Aang does not have control when he's in his glowly eyes form so whatever he may have or may not have "learned" does not matter because as stated, he's not in control of his own actions when he's like that. Even with all the evidence I've presented (Aang used airbending; Aang was located in a cold region when he froze himself and a warm region when he didn't freeze himself; Aang is not in control of what he does when he gets glowly), I will say, that it doesn't mean it's not impossible that freezing the first time and not this time was not intentional but when you have multiple possible explanations, according to Occam's Razor, the correct explanation is MOST LIKELY the simplest explanation and in this situation, the simplest explanation is that the differences in outcome were due to differences in temperature.
Nah, it definitely didn't have to do with the water temperature. Aang froze himself using water-bending the first time out of sheer survival instinct. He wasn't thinking of the best solution to the problem, just what might give him the best chance of survival in that moment. He did not consider how to get out of it. This time, he knows better (plus had more people around depending on him).
I love how we all are like "WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS GIRL!" during Zuko's flashback x'd Interesting theory about how he froze himself. TO me, i always thought of it as "destiny" in the sense that "The Avatar" knew it'd be best for Aang to go into hibernation until "the time was right". So i see it more as "The Avatar" froze Aang, rather than him doing it himself consciously
i miss tho good old days of 45 min a video lol
Same here! When i used to do only 1 show at a time
2:47 Zuko's character summarized in 1 simple sentence: "He better listens to his uncle"
9:20 You will get to know that Chick later in the story. She's actually my favorite antagonist of this story.
