I would like to add that because of your videos of spoon carving, I have taken to it also. Wanted you to know that you CAN train old dogs. A very interesting and relaxing activity. I am currently at work making a white birch, fairly large bowled spoon for dipping Alaska Sourdough flapjack batter out of the mixing bowl, one spoon full of batter to equal one hot cake, on a cast iron griddle. I really like your hook design for keeping the handle from sliding into the batter. Next project is a small shirt pocket spoon for ladling honey and milk into and stirring my tea. Strong black Lapsing Souchong , of course.
That is fantastic, I am so glad to have encouraged you to start making spoons. It is such a relaxing and rewarding thing to do. Particularly next to a camp fire. Thanks for the comment mate, this one really made my day.
Top hand carved spoon Tim bro ! ..sweet little knife too ! ..the hook on the spoon is something I have never seen before now ! Ha ha !.. great practical joke from John... and that spoon he sent is awesome !!.. that red will be from the wrapper !! Hope you are having an amazing Happy Easter my friend !!
Thanks mate. Started on the cherry, so much harder than our birch😂. The last spoon I made in the UK was field maple, that's nice wood. I need to try rowan too as we have that here. Thanks again for everything.
Looking for a pun involving spoons to kinda stir the pot, but I couldn't get a handle on one. I guess I can take it but not dish it out. Maybe I'll try ladle. Cool idea, Tim. Well done both of you! 👍🏻
@singingtoad Sorry about that, Mr. Toad. I just had to be sure, particularly if anyone should happen to be reading through. You know- People hear "raw linseed oil is the best for spoons", then they hear talk of "boiled linseed oil", and... oops. 😬 Better safe than sorry, thought I. 👍👍

Enjoy mate! Look forward to seeing what you do with the cherry too! Your spoon looks fantastic, really hope the bark lasts!

@@FerndaleMichiganUSA Oh, I wooden say that... 😉
@kanukkarhu My hat remains tipped to you, sir.
Thanks for sharing about your 2 wooded spoons. I too use BLO on all my wood handled tools, I swear by it. 👍Take care my friend and Cheers!
Cheers mate. Linseed oil is good stuff. I sometimes add a little pine tar for a darker finish too.
Thanks for watching.
Don't use BLO on spoons, Mr. Toad- it's poison. 8-o
@@TheShurikenZone I don't use BLO on my wooden spoons. I said: "I too use BLO on on my wood handled tools", I didn't say on my spoons...😉👍

@@TheShurikenZone It's all good. 👍
That's a nice looking spoon. I don't think I'd mind living somewhere where the government kind of forgot about you.😂 Good to see you, buddy.
Government? We have a government? 😂 So that's why I am paying tax, do they do anything other than get paid? Trying to figure it out.
