I had the GT550A model (twin discs). I sold it in August 2021.
Plug gap is 0.25" for the left & right cylinders, 0.27" for the centre cylinder, the same as for the GT380 & GT750.
I installed a Dresda box section steel swing arm in mine, back in 1990. It stopped the infamous slow motion straight line weave at speeds above 70 MPH.
The fuel consumption was 18 MPG cruising & 9 MPG in town.
I ran it on All Speed pipes with K&N filters with bigger jets. The All Speeds were quieter than the stock pipes, increasing low down & midrange torque but reduced top end performance. I had Le Sport pipes before that, which were irritatingly loud, but gave more top end power.

Sounds good. I've had this for the 5 years. Built it entirely from spare parts I purchased on ebay - not the cheapest way of building a bike, I've now realised. Just getting it back on the road now after another major engine rebuild. Had a lot of problems with it over the years - crankshaft seals, carbs, oil pump electrics, ignition - all due to the age of the bike, but it seems to be running ok now. It's very thirsty - 20mpg when your hammering it, and only about 25-30mpg taking it easy. I still enjoy it though, takes me back to the early 80's, when I first got into bikes, and I love 2 strokes. Hopefully have a new GoPro video of it on TH-cam shortly.
