Ed is going to have to replace the seat which is no big deal based on this car. This is a near dream spec to me. Love the Bordeaux interior and HGTE package. I remember when this was launched. Manual swap this at the shop that does the scud. That’s my dream Ferrari.

The a 599 GTB is the only Ferrari I’ve ever driven. It was red with tan interior, manual front engine V12. Not many people in the world got to enjoy a Ferrari V12 manual. I feel very lucky. I don’t know if there still around but thanks Sprewell racing for letting me drive some sweet cars!
Honestly when I think about Ferrari the 599 is where I go. It's the first Ferrari I feel in love with. Then I saw the old California and California T and thought those are the attainable Ferraris. I do enjoy the mid-engine v8 cars but they never caught me the way the grand tourers do.

Honestly I think the 599 is so underrated. it's styled in what i think to be a very appealing but most of all timeless way. and man, that powerplant... yes of course the cost of ownership would not be the nicest thing to have to explain to your wife but, man.... the things we do for love!
I was a fan of this car way back when Top Gear did the race to the ski resort. It's slightly understated on the looks but dayum it flies when you give it the beans.
Honestly the 599 has been my favorite all-time Ferrari since I saw it in Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Gran Turismo 5 (where I made it look gorgeous in dark blue with a carbon top). Very smooth design, conservative by modern Ferrari standards yet performs as well as any while not beating you up along the way. And it only got better with the GTO which just made a perfect car next level, only to be topped by the XX Evo. Is it under rated? Dude it has a detuned ENZO ENGINE what more do you want? Would a Ferrari V12 in a Corvette be any less impressive than an actual Ferrari? Come on

ahh this was one of my favorite ferraris when I was a kid. Had the hot wheel. Love the thicker body design, I'd argue its not really that attractive but its not ugly at all either (the GTO with the black tops look WAYYY better). Just loved the somewhat restrained design and the fact that its front engine.

Loving the interior of this era. No tablet or navigation screens... I would never go for the bucket seats. It is GT and I would enjoy it as a GT. I'm not a race car kinda guy.... I'll do that with my motorcycle... The 599 en also the 612 (which many people think is ugly) I have my eye on. Loving this anonymous color. Although my first choice now is the BMW i8 because of less maintenance costs. Buying a Ferrari is one think, keeping it on the road another... Insurance wise I can't even fully ensure it in Holland. So do I take it out I need to be careful...hahahahe..
Fun Fact: The Ferrari 599 was one of the last sports car to be naturally aspirated along with other naturally aspirated sports cars like for example, the Honda S2000 :)

I think the 599 and the Enzo sound better than the newer V12 Ferraris (F12, LaFerreri, etc). I prefer the slightly deeper sound this one made.

The 599 GTO could maybe be called a front engined Enzo. This is a GTB, a very different car to the GTO.
