I love Jamario, his superb talent on the bass and his energy on stage. This interview also shows how humble he is. Wish him continued success and glad to see him shine with Bruno and Silk Sonic

Traditionally, a record producer is tasked with the big picture - the entire recording process. A vocal producer is a specialist who concentrates on getting the best vocal performance possible. Bruno wears both hats. When he is working with artists such as an Adele or a Brandy his role as a vocal producer isn't as involved, but still needed. In Adele's case she is most comfortable singing in a specific vocal range and the song had a section outside that range. The easiest path would have been to lower the pitch/key for Adele, but that wasn't the best choice for the song. Bruno worked with her to get her out of her comfort zone. Then there is the flip side where he has had rappers (Cardi B, Gucci Mane, Kodak Black) sing on certain parts of a record instead of rapping. That involves intensive coaching and post-production wizardry that is effective and "fits" the song.
The "An Evening With Silk Sonic" album was done over a long period of time so Bruno had plenty of time to work on the vocal production side. (With his other albums there were minimal featured artists, so Bruno could concentrate on his vocal performance and a few backing vocalists.) Andy was a good singer, but with Bruno's coaching he has moved up a level with his vocals. The most noticeable changes have been his improved enunciation and increased vocal range. Another huge part to the vocal production on the album was the actual layering and arranging the vocals. It must have been like a puzzle; figuring out who sang which parts on specific songs. Another highlight to the album are the harmonies which are complex and unique. Bruno did a masterful job of laying down his multiple backing vocal tracks as underscored on the "Leave The Door Open" harmonies.

Interesting video man! I love hearing celebrities talking about Bruno Mars. I recently found out that when Bruno Mars debuted, Tyler the Creator and Kayne West didn't really like his music(Not his persona). Also Definitely check out the following performances by Bruno! "If I knew" (In Paris) "Bruno Mars Sting Tribute at Kennedy" "It Will Rain X Factor" Amazing performances by him!

Depending on commitments even with your family, session work, if you’re on tour, not around, then someone else will take that. There’s always a young gun waiting in the wings. Tours for bigger named artists don’t always have the same guys on tour as in the studio. My hubby and I have lived this for 42-50 years. Making decisions based on circumstances that could change or be put on hold, with no notice. We’ve always had different columns. So if one area of our work dropped off, a tour didn’t happen, like during Covid, we could jump across to other areas we’d developed. We built a teaching studio and a recording studio on top of our home so we’d be around more our kids… it,so been a wonderful life full of brilliant people like Jamareo, and places in the world we’d never dreamed of seeing. This is what I see with what Bruno does, same feelings from back in our days. Getting it right and caring enough about what he does and who he is. Surrounding himself with the best. Not being frightened to change direction, as he did when Phill left to get himself straightened out. Always showing gratitude. And it’s gotta be fun, infectious so his audience and fans join in and it’s a huge inclusive party.🐨👏🏼🙏🏻 Thanks, as always, love your reactions. So jealous of everyone getting to Vegas, with everything crossed that they’ll tour this album or commitments here will give me the time to fly 24hours, get over the jet lag, and see Silk Sonic 🤩 That would be a dream come true.

th-cam.com/video/okpOEo6cT7Q/w-d-xo.html Here's the Letterman link. Its crazy how far they've all come. I totally understand how different it is live. There are no words that describe the energy created in that theater.
