      This is true. I did say that I didn’t wanna make him Toby fully. To me it’s just a friendly neighbourhood Spidey rather than Toby. But you are right Toby’s suit lines are a dark silver.

    I'm painting the bust version of this. I did a fair-ish job of the suit lines, then watched the movie again and realised the black lines have a top edge of white. So I gave it a go. Omg. This was a great way to remove all the fun from painting, especially when I'd go over and paint the black, so was back and too all day. Ha ha. Damn my OCD.

    • @Groundeffected
      @Groundeffected  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t wanna be that guy but his suit lines are actually silver if you want to be movie accurate. But I did black cos I don’t really like Toby but I like spidey so I just made him like a comic Spidey

    Theres a technique i and people that build gundams use for trim and fine details. If you dont wanna do all the fine lines try reverse wash. Use a lacquer of Enamel as the base. Then paint over with acrylic and using a fine brush or q-tip remove the acrylic. The enamel /lacquer will survive and you will have saved alot of time

    • @Groundeffected
      @Groundeffected  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was an option but I was weighing up the cost of time vs just painting each line anyway either way I’d have to go over them and some were not sculpted very proud so would’ve been a nightmare to remove the paint on some areas. But that is a good trick!

    Do you use a specific kind of brush for applying the liquid mask? It's supposed to be water-soluble but the few times I've tried using it, the brush has ended up near wrecked afterwards. So I tend to just err towards masking-tape and blu-tack as a rule.

    • @Groundeffected
      @Groundeffected  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I use a brush I hate the most. Because once you’re done the brush is pretty much ruined!

    • @MadAl37
      @MadAl37 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you wash a clean brush in pure washing up liquid and then rinse it in cold clean water, then apply the mask, for some reason the mask washes off the brush no problem as it doesn't stick. If it does get a bit clogged up, dip it in boiling water for a few seconds then wipe it off. Repeat this and you should get your brush back to normal. There are liquid mask application brushes too which are silicon. They're ok for fine lines but pretty useless for mass coverage.

    • @Groundeffected
