When you said you felt like you did so much and absolutely nothing at the same time I felt that in my spirit.. that is me everytime I try to tackle my clutter.😢
This came out so well!! I love the fact that when you showed us the 9 bags that you decluttered you said that you were immediately going to take the bags out of the house. I think that's where a lot of us go wrong - we don't get the bags out of the house which can sometimes rob you of the sense of accomplishment because the stuff is still in the house. Thanks for sharing.

Don't feel bad ,many of us have the same issues. I heard a lady saying "for every new item for the closet ,one has to go".I should do that too.

I felt like you were here with me so I was not by myself tackling something that pulls you away from other things that need to be done for the family and the house. i'm at 11:21, when I get frustrated or overwhelmed - wanting to stop- I take the trash out, and bag up the donations. take them down to the car. you'll see what's leaving as you fill the car! you'll come back to empty space! it's really inspiring and exciting.

Clothing i wear only at certain times of the year i put into vacuum bags. Sometimes clothes sitting around for a long time have a smell and need to be rewashed to wear.
Closet looks good. Decluttering can be very overwhelming,but the end result is so worth it.

I'm so happy to see progress! I would add that those belongings you are not ready to let go, you can put on a "time will tell" bin. If you don't touch it or remember what is in it, it goes directly to donation.
Jia, girl- I feel so validated right now! I feel like my closet is total chaos, when in reality there's no house with proper storage. I'm in the same boat- I do my own nails, my own hair, waxing, etc. but there's nowhere to put things without my closet looking like a flea market! Like you, I've been on the purging/decluttering kick this year but I know there's still so much left to do and it's really overwhelming. Props to you!

Hi, my motto is if you don't use it for 3 months get rid of it. I did a declutter recently also.
One suggestion:: a clear crate just to hold all the hair products
So its all in one place when it comes time to do hair for you and the kids

I wanted to truly thank you for your openness and vulnerability in making this video! Myself (and so many others) are right there with you on how much stuff has piled up and it’s suffocating! I am a Amazon Vine reviewer and get 8 free products a day if I want which has been a blessing and curse since I already had problems my entire life having too many clothes and “stuff” and this has just added to the problem! But I have watched your video and it gave me the motivation to start the process of decluttering and minimizing and continue to push forward until it’s complete! It’s been almost my entire life I’ve always had to many clothes and now at age 37 (and thanks to your video) I FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY purged my clothes and I have an organized everything and room feels AMAZING! I’ve watched countless of other videos, but yours was the one that just clicked something inside of me and ignited my motivation! So thank you thank you thank you! And you did such a wonderful job with your space!!!
You did a really good job. I felt you when you wanted to quit. It feels good to start but figuring out how to organize and throwing things out can be a challenge. It gets so overwhelming but the end result is rewarding

Super motivating! I have a small bin for Disney only clothing:). Also, I am a Business Professor and there are so many women that need professional attire and there are organizations out there that need clothing to be able to help all the women. .

Jia!!! I am feeling you on SO many levels!! Corporate America!!! 30 years of my life until I got sick and couldn't keep it up. Had SO MANY THINGS that were so HARD to let go of. 😢 They were part of a walk in closet that I was forced to downsize due to a move to a very small apartment. It just broke my heart. But I DID THE THING!! And four years later, im still working on it. Better is always better. You did amazingly well. Keep peeling that onion and I'll be here cheering you on!! ❤
Declutter closet can be very overwhelming , when i first started declutter my closet it took me days just to get rid of a few things then i just put most of the stuffs back to where they were. It took me years to get rid of 75% of what i own.

Starting is always the hardest step.
Piece of advice for the stuff that you are unsure of, put them in a tub or a box and put a deadline on the top... if you dont reach for anything in that box within the period of time you gave yourself you can just grab the container and donate everything. That's what has worked for me when I find myself hesitanting while decluterring.
Plus you did a good job pushing through the decision fatigue, that's definitely something to be proud about.
Wow you really created yourself alot of work, hopefully you remember how much you hate cleaning and organizing it so you remember to keep it organized and just pick up after yourself. But with that said, it looks amazing and I'm proud of you for coming more into your womanhood and wifehood of getting it together.

Get a clear bin for the hair so it will be contained in one location and you'll be able to see it. This will also help you have a confined amount of space for it so that you don't buy outside of that dedicated space. For all of the travel items, set up a travel location. We initially had travel items all over and it was a nightmare when getting ready to travel. I took one of the entryway closets and turned it into a travel closet. Luggage on the bottom, travel bags on top and we have another shelf that I added to hold bins with small travel items. I'm slowly working on my closet. Kudos to you.
I had that same purple coach purse. I gave it away to my mom when I decluttered. 💜

All your videos of cleaning out got me so motivated. Hubs and I cleaned out the closets over the last couple of weeks. Sooooo many bags donated, 'missing" items found, and the ridiculous number of duplicate items in my closet...thank you so much for putting yourself out there because it has motivated many of us to join you!!!!

Hello Jia, for hair organization just a suggestion, my grandmother growing up used to keep all her hair in a suitcase to keep it organized and contained and labeled that suitcase as the hair suitcase. I do this method to this day to keep all my synthetic and human hair organized.
This was fun to watch - you just need to splurge on some organizational totes with lids that will help store your items and also protect them from dust n such :)
Not judging you but thank you for taking responsibility for the mess in your closet. In a world where we’re always blaming someone else it really takes a mature person to take responsibility. I know you will feel so amazing for the end results. High five sister. You are rocking it.

Don't know if this would be any help , but there is a free standing mirror that opens up and inside there is space for your jewelry, hairbrush ect xx

Great job! Just something which might help is to reverse all of your hangers. Once you wear an item then turn the hanger back the right way. After an amount of time (each season or 6 months etc), look through the items which are still turned the wrong way and ask yourself why you haven’t reached for it. It might be that you still want to keep it or it might not be something that you will wear again.
Good on you for taking the time and putting in the effort to make your space match your needs and vision!!

I put a coat rack up and displayed some of my nice handbags this gives me pleasure in looking at them and also puts limits as to how many I can have 😊

I just tackled my closet in my room, which is two built-in wardrobes that go from the ceiling to the floor and take up a wall. I have four trash bags of old clothes that are going out. I'm embarrassed, but extremely good to see space in my closet. I have been putting this off. But today, I came across a video about the Swedish death cleaning and it was inspiring enough to make me get up and at least start. I'm so happy to have decluttered my room today. It feels so very great and it didn't take anywhere as much time as I would have thought. I'm on a mission to live more simply. After I watched that video, yours came up and so I'm watching it now. Next, I will tackle my daughters' closets to declutter and get rid of things. They have entirely too many toys and just things.

The hair- too relatable. I used to make wigs back in the day so I have everything under the sun. I’m currently a stay at home mom but former teacher so I have a lot of professional clothes and have a hard time getting rid of stuff cause I’m like if I return to work I can use it but the truth is I can start fresh as well. I appreciate this video. I need to do some serious decluttering.

You did soooo good! Your attitude towards it of NO PART of you wanting to dive into it and being consumed in it is very much me! And not being ready to let go of corp clothing. I just became a SAHM last year, had 3rd baby and now pregnant with 4th and I all those clothes I know I wont be ready to let go of some. Plus the maternity and tons of baby clothes i have in cliset that I cant get rid of yet. And I store Christmas decor in my closet, and share with my husband! I hate it, so much stuff, no room and no motivation!😂

Hi Jia! Great job and yes God wants us to be people of order as He is a God of order. Also being good stewards of what He blesses us with is important. Also, a smart tip for luggage is to store other bags in there when you're not packing/traveling like duffel bags, purses, backpacks, knapsacks, etc. in case you hadn't thought of that. You had a ton of bags girl! Thank you for donating stuff instead of trashing it. I have seen soooo many videos or talked to people and they just throw away usable stuff, like it just disappears into the abyss. Nope, it sits in a landfill. Yessss to the Batman tee and Marvel fan here too. God bless!!

The Limited was my jam! In 2001 I had a job at the Ritz Carlton I had to wear suits. I got a Limited credit card and an Express card and of course went bananas with the nice suit jackets and pants. The Limited had the best silky knit sweater cami tank and cardigan sets. Ughh good times!! I really really miss early 2000’s Limited Express and NY&Co too. (Though I was in cc debt in my 20’s with all those cards! 😂 )
