- Navy SEAL Chadd Wright hosts the annual 3 of 7 Project Trail Race. This is a grueling 8-hour race of rough terrain and steep elevation. Hundreds of athletes compete to test their physical endurance and mental fortitude in this intense 8-hour race.
Born and raised in the mountains of northwest Georgia, Chadd joined the Navy and went on to have a successful career in the SEAL teams serving as a Team Leader on multiple deployments, a SEAL instructor and Master Training Specialist. Retiring in 2019, he is now a part-time defense contractor, business owner, entrepreneur, and competitive Ultrarunner.

This is such a great reminder to push when it gets hard. Discomfort happens every day in all areas of life, and we have to be ok with the discomfort.
This race was no joke! Proud of everyone that pushed themselves, that was super awesome to see. Through discomfort comes growth!
Like Chad said, it’s in those places where you feel uncomfortable that growth happens!!!

I was there and mile 2 was so gnarly. I’m used to flat Florida and that single mile was a story to tell people about for the rest of my days.

This race is the real deal .. life changing
I am 45 years old and just entered the Charleston 100. I needed to see this. Everyone is discouraging me. Telling me I am crazy because I am not a runner. But that’s the point, I want the growth. I am looking up information how to train and prepare myself. The run is in December 2024 100 miles. I am open to any suggestions for training. Thank you in advance everyone.

Chad, Have you looked into the GDR? I ran it in 2014, from one Navy vet to another, it’s worth running. And I believe it’s in your neck of the woods.

What an awesome day it was! 8 hours of pure pain, suffering, and joy! I got to pour myself out for others. Pick people up when they were down because i was also in the pain cave. Their struggle became mine, and my struggle became theirs! Love y'all! Keep going and never ever quit. That's it!
This is exactly why I love endurance sports! Daily life only gets as uncomfortable as we allow it to. An event like this... you choose to show up and end up learning and doing way more than you ever imagined you were capable of.
"Every time I've ever really experienced significant growth, it required me to show up somewhere where I just didn't feel like I belonged and I had to keep showing up, keep showing up" .... man, this video is so damn inspiring. If this doesn't get you fired up, I don't know what would.

My favorite moment of this race was meeting Chadd on Jenkins hill. I’ve been inspired by his example for years- great man, great race. 💯
I just ran a marathon I got an injury 4 months out so I did upper body after 2 week starting again didn’t care a whole year of training and I signed up for it 3 weeks before cus I didn’t have cash made bet on Alabama and won 100 I put up 30 and ran the mf McAllen marathon
This is such a motivation for me and others! Keep doing what God has called you to do by pouring into others lives. I want to be there next year!
