- Traditional bamboo weaving is the ancient people's work and wisdom.
Cutting bamboo , splitting bamboo and weaving bamboo strips,
it's wonderful to make bamboo into useful crafts, like magic.
Recently I'm busy with the forestry.
Me, a box of rice and a pot of water, staying with the blue sky and green mountains all the day.
Sometimes, the life in the village is so simple and boring.

这个器物叫竹匾。簸箕是三角形的，古语箕坐指的是叉开两腿坐，就是取意簸箕的形状。

What an awesome work!! I have 3 bamboo weavings I ordered from China and I use them to decorate the wall of my kitchen. But I never stopped to think about how much work it takes to be done. Someone had a hard work making it and we should give much more value to handmade things. Thanks for this video XiaoXi!! By the way, the region where you live is wonderful!! ♥️🇨🇳♥️
I grew up seeing people around me doing these things. except for fabric and shoes, we didn’t use many industrial products.
My dad made my beds, toys, blankets, pillows (with geese feathers) ... My aunts made my cloths.
My dad was a carpenter before I was born. He has asthma so he wanted to switch job but no one would hire him because they worried he would die.
He then had his own business.
My mom had 3 different jobs at the time, selling apple at market, making snack for school kids and her later successful business.
I always told people that I had an amazing childhood in Vietnam running with other kids and enjoying simple life.
I have a bamboo fly rod and its unbelievable the amount of work to make one by hand

This remind me of my childhood, I grew up watching my mom doing all type of bamboo weaving crafts. It was so fasinating how she can weave so much pattern from a bamboo! It take so much patience and talents to be able to do this stuff!
