Dr. Sadler, I wanted to attend the Q and A but i had an oral exam. I just want to say i really appreciate your channel and appreciate you, you seem like you’re a nice person.
@@GregoryBSadler I’d say you do a lot more charity than you think; This channel helped me during times i didn’t knew were bad until i knew i survived them, and I grew to like you in that period and I still do. Your kids are lucky to have you professor.
@@massacreee3028 Well, doing charity and being nice are two separate things. I do indeed produce a lot of free work. That doesn't mean I'm nice in my interactions. More blunt much of the time
Really enjoyed the livestream! One thing I noted, is when TH-cam archives this, I can't see the questions answered from the live chat?
That's a TH-cam problem. I had the box checked to display chat in settings (as I do for every livestream). Sometimes there are glitches like that
I’m sorry I missed your AMA, but I wanted to share a link with you regarding the Vesuvius Challenge at Herculaneum. They can read burned papyri, and a epicurean text was found. The main library there has yet to be found they think, so possibly more “new” ancient texts in our lifetimes. I tried commenting with a link but youtube deleted my comments i think.
Yes, adding links on TH-cam comments gets them held. That's why you email directly to share things rather than making a comment. As it turns out, I did see the news earlier today
are you going to be doing another live stream? If so when? I missed this one.
As you know, I do them every single month. You can see one already there in upcoming streams
1:22:25 “Do you see universal human rights as inherent in us at birth, or bestowed on us by a creator, or as a social construct?”
Dr. Sadler: Yep. 😂
Just a fun fact. I study the Great Lakes. One major concern we have with climate change is algal blooms. Specifically because sediments retain a lot of legacy nutrients, like phosphorus. We're expecting that a change in temperature will cause leaching of old pollutants into the water column. I'm personally concerned for water security despite being in a water mecca.
Less fun than I’d expected
I'll be here all week.
