Be safe, Jason, in the dangerously cold weather ☃️ We can watch reruns. I live near Seattle WA but I was born in Lower Michigan. You have ignited an interest in me to learn about short-line railroads 🚆 in Washington State, as well as the big ones, Union Pacific and BNSF.
Was trying to figure where those hopper cars would be loaded, so I took a trip, by way of Google Earth and just as I expected, loading out at Specialty Granules, a producer of Frac Sand, I worked for a time in the Bakken Oil Field and Specialty was the producer of the Frac Sand we were hauling to the well sites in North Dakota
That count down intro sounds like a birth of a train video idk something about the intro seems train like for some reason well 503 is back the former Bnsf sd40-2 interesting switching video from pembine once again good luck with them stairs 200 more to go 😂
It might have been signaled at one time. The CN tracks used to be a fairly busy main line when it was the Wisconsin Central. I know it was a manned crossing back in the Milwaukee Road days by the depot that used to be there.
Hey Jason, thanks for awesome video, but I have a question for you: How high is the elevation of the mountain this ski jump is on? Have a great weekend, Jason.
Sounds like ELS is having engine woes. plenty of cars for smart siding. curious question; are the cars loaded inside the plant like Wall Board is in Saint John? Thank You.
Will 1221 be stored indoors or be left running in the upcoming cold weather, or is the cooling system heated with a circulating heater. No antifreeze in a 567 engine.
I made the first of several trips to Iron Mountain in 1989. I took many pictures including some of the Miners Union hall and I'm amazed that it looks little changed in those 36(?) years.😊
I guess I don't have a clue about railroad policy. I find the lack of functional railroad crossings...especially going through a town like Iron Mountain to be amazing. I guess liability doesn't fix crossings.
The City likely has requested a "no- horn" zone from the FRA. In grade crossing collisions, the motorists are presumed to be liable. Train crews are not to be drug/alcohol tested following a grade crossing collision per FRA regulation. Had to argue this point a few times because some officers are not aware of this.
I think I have posted this before but I am 81 years old and still ride a motorcycle a Harley Sportster 1200 2009 am 80 thinking about taking a last adventure and riding up your way if I do I Shure would love love to meet up with you for lunch or just chat .

good train video
Pretty cool chase video ELS is pretty lucky to have you filming their trains thanks Jason
Thanks for the video, Jason
Radiator issues make sense since they keep having to add water to the unit
Quite a bit of adhesive on this run!
Thanks Jason - but stay safe - respect the weather - nothing is worth getting hurt for
Another great looking video with crisp images and steady shots. Very nice.
37 cars, pretty long train !! Stay safe !
Great video. THANK YOU!
I was sorry to hear that you don't get as many views on switching videos. I really enjoy those as well as your other videos.
I enjoyed that video👍👍
Stay in, stay warm, stay safe, there plenty of trains in warmer weather.
Amazing to get that many miles on a Chevy!

It would be neat if sometime you could show the diamond crossing of the E&LS with the CN.
That one is a little hard to get close to without trespassing unfortunately.
@chrisduprey7283 I wouldn't want him to take a chance like that.
I been waiting to
I know, that was Smokey and the Bandit with Buford T. Justice in hot pursuit 🚨
Does the CN train also have to stop at that crossover and sound the horn or do they always have the right of way?
CN has to stop ss well. It's a 4 way stop sign that controls that diamond. 1st come, 1st served.
@@chrisduprey7283thanks for the explanation. Too bad it can’t be signaled so if you get the green light, you keep going

Your famous Jason you got your picture
Nice chase of ELS 503 and its train from Pembine, Wisconsin to Iron Mountain, Michigan. (Posted on 17 January 2025 at 1726 CST.)

A lot of cars for 1 locomotive
Probably most are empty.
ELS mow pick-up with high-rails on the highway 3: 22 into the video

That one of Funtiers broken phone poles?
The red car has all those miles on it hmm wonder why 😂
Like your videos, any chance of a basic map of the locations that you visit please?
We are to have nasty weather today, Saturday to Monday then the temperatures free fall till Thursday or Friday.
Is the warranty up on your red car yet, Jason? 😊
I cant believe i am first today!

Els 503 is the only SD40, ELS 500, 501, 502 : SD40-2( longer back deck and slight longer front . ELS 400, 401, 402 EP38 series
7:14
That's a lot of cars for one 3000 HP loco.
Were you referring to 1221? It's 1750 hp.
@erie910 SD40-2 503
I saw that there were 37 cars but I originally thought it was more.
Yea Broken Pole Crossing, Weebles Wobble But They Dont Fall Down..
Are those hoppers for LP as well? Do you know what's in them?
I believe the hopper cars are just being stored for someone. They do call some out from time to time.

Burger Chef closed since 1989.... ;)

Good shots, Jason! Now you have as much snow as we have in the Thumb.

Why does it have to be a last adventure? You’ll have years more adventures with your young mindset
