It’s a book narration for heaven’s sake, not a West End Play. This narrator tries too hard for voice and tone differences, to the point where Lady Amanda’s character is so annoying I cannot listen to the warbling and trilling.

You have not got it. It is a farce and is played as such.

@@anthonyfrazer3939 - oh I get it alright. But even a farce can be OTT and utterly annoying. Poor narration can spoil even the farciest farce.
