Hello, does somebody know how to stop the music? it's nice but after a while it's too much;; :-). We have lots of X-mas toys but they all have a double swith: pos.1 on with music ans pos.2 without music. I hope I can open the locomotive and have enough space to put another swith in it and can enjoy the nice 'decoration' with and without the noice. Thx for your help and best regards/Geert
Yes, it's super easy. Open up the train using a phillips screwdriver. Be mindful to keep the screws in a place you won't lose them. You will see access to the speaker inside the cavity. Just simply snip the wires leading to the speaker using a hobby knife or wire cutters. Since the whole circuit is relay, it just stops the music but the motor for the train keeps running. Then just close everything up. Takes about 2 minutes to do the whole thing. I've had mine for a few years now. It took me 1 day before I realised I'm not living through the music on repeat. Another tip: If you find the train sometimes slips on the track then just wipe the whole track down with a wet wipe. Dust on the tracks reduces the traction. Try to do it once a week and it'll run fine. You can also oil up the axles where they join on the train bogies to stop any squeaking. Just don't oil the actual wheel contacts of course!
Thx for the tip. However I was looking for a very little switch that enables me to switch the sound on and off. But 0I don't want to damage the locomotive, so it must be a very little one.
I got this train, but the locomotive is soooooo loud that we need to cut the sound. However, we don't know which wire to cut. But really, know that though it's a super cool train, the sound is awfully loud. You won't have it running for more than two rounds around the tree, hahah
Help got mine on clearance last year and the base clamp is too big to fit on my tree between the tree branch layers. How do you attach this to the tree when the base is too big?
