yes I agree with you Robert, we don't need New Age rubbish at Knock Shrine, a walk on Eucharistic miracles would be more suitable, or a walk on the lives of our great Irish Martyrs, a very much forgotten group of saints
A huge bugbear I have with Catholic academics is how they always accept the theory of evolution as fact. Typically, I'll look at some long video about science and religion from a Catholic perspective and inevitably the speaker takes Darwinism as his starting point. I wish they'd fight their corner a bit better, as just one of many non-Catholic examples take the secular Fred Reed on The Metaphysics of Evolution, or anything else he's written about Darwinism.
Was in Knock during covid could not with several others get in to Mass as they had reached the number allowed yet there were four other churches on the site all closed to the public. It was a Saturday I got in my car and drove one hundred and fifty miles home to a Church near me where I could attend evening Mass, very disappointed with Knock athourites.
Was there any consultation period afforded to donating pilgrims prior to its construction? To be fair, I’ve always been pretty impressed by the management of funds at Knock.
Well I LOL 😂😂😂😂 God bless these people… you had me at the 16000 years of Irish Christianity 😅… They could even have done the history of Irish Saints as a walk
I think they want to appeal to everyone and not be seen as too Catholic. The statement from the Catholic Bishops Conference on the recent referendums - in two full pages - didn't mention Jesus Christ, Our Lady, or the Holy Family once, if I'm not mistaken. Pope Francis got 5 or 6 mentions. Some wanting a one world religion and some wanting not to offend maybe.
Yes, but Jesus Himself offended people, especially the Pharisees. It did not stop Him from proclaiming the truth, because He loved even those who found Him offensive. Some leaders in our Church don’t like His approach.
Just wondering if some of these things might be a half-hearted sop to Franco. Signs could easily, and relatively cheaply, replaced with something Catholic in the interregnum; perhaps?
The walk looks great! It would be so peaceful. The 16,000 years ago Christianity came to Ireland though…I would change that sign. Nonetheless, the walk would be so peaceful! Nature declares the beauty of God!
I just don't get why the history of the universe is there. Yes, we Catholics should be interested in science, it is truly awe inspiring that the universe was created in a flash with all its laws and finely balanced constants that we could be here. But I just don't get why the miracle of creation has to be at a Marian shrine. Surely Mary points us to the creator, not the creation.
Knock Marian Shrine Family walk would have complemented the Apparition of Our Lady St Joseph and John the Apostle who became symbolic for us to become children of Mary our Mother. The Lamb of God meditation on Holy Mass and angels giving glory to the Son of God. This walk is devoid of drawing the heart to Mary or Jesus in prayer. It belongs in a nature walk. This is sad.😢
A lot of critical comments here. Personally I have no problem with Creation being cited to affirm God's existence and His work. Set aside 16,000 years typo. It should read 1,600 years ago. The Old Testament is filled with statements urging believers to look and observe and absorb the wonders of God's creation and His power. Apollo 15 space mission, James Irwin on the Moon had a spiritual encounter with Jesus Christ. Yes, I take the point that the mystery of the Eucharist is paramount. The Creator of the 93 Trillion light year Universe, created by God, is the same Being who we receive in the Eucharist at every Mass.
Fortunately I live in the southern hemisphere...or I'd be there with some aerosol you know what and do some on site fact checking. A travesty. The world is 7 thousand years old I believe

A Great idea Eucharistic Miracle walk and 24 Hour Perpetual Adoration❤️ 🙏🌍🙏🕯️🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Any news on when they are opening a dedicated 24/7 adoration chapel
You are correct regarding having a eucharistic walk.

What a lovely walk.
It really reassures me where my money is going.
(To Uganda this week anyway!)
"Creation walk" so NEW AGE 🥴🤯
Maybe an idea to pray the rounds of creation as in the Divine Will....guess it depends on ones intent?

The Viking attacks began in 795, at Rathlin Island, and continued from THEN onward; not AD 900 onward.
Wow, they can’t even fact check. God love them. Valid points robert
Goes to show where their attention was, and it wasn’t on Christianity

Many shrines have become labyrinths and mindfulness zones 😵💫🤯😱
Great comments! God's own tent is greater than the tent made for us to live...

Catholic voice cover it well .get the paper .well worth the read .

A lot of Teilhard De Chardin influence here. Not acceptable, at all.
This is pure earth worship, paganism introduced at Knock. Written by an SJ, of course. Whoever is in charge of Knock is evil.
That’s me done giving a single Penney to that place. What a waste of money
Career clerics need to keep the Jesuits happy if they want a promotion from Rome
🎯
💯%
Are these clerics ashamed of christian faith? Why do they focus more on science than faith?

A great way to pray the Rounds of creation as taught in the Divine Will.
Pure speculation this only discredits.Whoever signed off for this has some explaining!

I sense a touch of sarcasm 😉
