    scientifically brass and copper are antimicrobial. Pioneers used to put a penny in their water to keep away germs... so if you are doing it for cleansing reasons, not just feng shui rules, pennies made prior to 1982 should do a decent job.

    I think you will find that these Chinese coins are only plated I have tried over 20 eBay sites and they say brass but when asked the say plated brass , , the salt in the water will soon eat through the plating , if you want to use solid brass use British faceted edge 3 pence pieces from the 1960,s

    Hello Dana, Where in my home is best to place the salt water, and how long will it take to form the crystal?

    • @thetaoofdana
      @thetaoofdana  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like to put it in places that tend to be neglected and can use an energy boost. For example I have a hallway desk area that’s a display and I use it here sometimes because no one uses the desk ✨ It depends on size of bowl/ weather/ etc, but here it is after two months. Usually after a few weeks it’s coated in crystal but really impressive in months for me. pin.it/hzihhpjog3nlh3

      Often I'll leave for months and months. If it dries up you can add extra water and it will keep on "growing" as a big salt crystal. You can re-do it when it feel like that one has done it's job and you want to do a fresh start energetically at home, but some years I do one, keep it for half the year or more and don't refresh/start a new one until I am ready to make a "fresh start" in some way. :)

    How can you say you don't care about which side the coins are facing but yet you are doing a traditional Chinese method as well as giving a tutorial about it?? Shouldn't it be exactly how it was created?? You also are NOT supposed to reuse the same materials as it contains the unwanted negative energy (you said that you reuse the coins for other things....) Idk, I just think in my opinion rituals like this should be executed as its intended for as well as informing the masses of the correct info.

  • @trakeya51
    @trakeya51 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    since this is a 'super-ancient method' i'm pretty sure there's TONS of information on why the coins are put in a circle and which side of the coin faces up and why. this video is not one of them. you probably should have done some more research before making this video because you come off disrespectful to this is ancient practice.

    • @thetaoofdana
      @thetaoofdana  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Wonderful observation, thank you! A lot of the ancient practices of feng shui are superstitions which are disrespectful to peoples integrity. The chemical reaction and the art of this is why I love it so much, and I do believe in the power of a ritual with this much crative transformation involved. If you're looking for superstition or to be filled in on the reasons behind superstitions, I am not your feng shui master… essentially, I don't espect traditions that say that you will have bad luck forever based on the direction of your bed or your birthday, that you'll never get married, will get sick or die based on parts of your home and arbitrary numbers… lots of feng shui is intensely negative and not to be respected. I don't touch it, share it or respect it. That said, there are core arts not based on superstition, backed largely by science and greatly empowering… and that's what I do :) Hopefully that clears things up!

      Billie Jean I’m a Feng Shui Master. I live it. I’ve restructured it. And if you don’t like the way I practice it that’s fine. but I’m not tolerant of people who tell others that they’re going to have no luck, no children, no money, no opportunity or even BAD HEALTH because of the day of the year or the direction of their bed. It’s called “nocebo” Effect and it’s been proven to ruin people’s lives. Some people have ben misdiagnosed with an illness and subsequently died only to learn afterward the suggestion of the illness (that they didn’t have) is what did them in. So, I don’t need to tolerate or respect that which causes harm; I’m here to show people a way new way that doesn’t destroy people’s sense of agency and freedom and manifesting ability and leaves them in fear--and if you prefer the old way thats fine. People who once practiced this old way are coming to me to learn the new because even they can’t stand to live with the limitations. Xoxoxo

      Please don't call yourself "Feng Shui Master" when you're just another online hack who keeps insulting an ancient culture you've already disrespected repeatedly and are in no way sorry about it. Another "Becky" appropriating another culture then diminishing/diluting its value thanks to your inherent arrogance and entitlement poorly disguised as "showing people new way".
      While there are a few genuine white people out there who have indeed gained expertise in Feng Shui (enough to dispense professional help and advice), applying Feng Shui without the rigidity, apprehension and even fear some may experience (if they do incorrect placements), they at least made an effort to give it the reverence it deserves by not calling themselves such lofty titles you so eagerly slaps upon your person.
      It is alright to be intolerant of people like you, until you are shamed into a much needed self-examination and change your ways.
      Girlfriends giving/sharing amateur Feng Shui tips can be forgiven, but someone claiming mastery should be held to the highest standards. And you're a massive fail.
