Nice job! My dad bought a 58 Silver Hawk new when I was 19 years old. I drove it a lot until he sold it in 1963 when he bought a new Studebaker GT Hawk that was even nicer. The 58 was red with white fins. It had the three speed with overdrive just like yours. It didn't have the double antennas in the back and it didn't have the dual exhaust otherwise it was identical. beautiful car and fun to drive. wish I had one today.

Earlyish on a Sunday morning, here are often interesting cars on a major road near us. In recent weeks, I've seen a couple of the early 50's Studebaker coupés along with a Silver Hawk this model, and another the model after. The later one has a smoother if less dramatic rear quarters but kept the protruding radiator. Loewy's styling of these cars has stood the test of time.

I inherited my 58. That thing was a tank. I also wish I still had it.

Those Studes weren’t exactly small cars, just not gargantuan like Lincolns or Buicks; neat and trim with very little gorp or fuss.
