I have a designated space that a general pair of scissors goes. I don’t have to search all over for a pair when I want to snip a thread or a tag, or open a bag. It’s a small thing, but a game changer that I use all the time. I’ve yelled at my family if they are missing, so they are all well trained to put them back.
I have a “tool bag “ hanging on door inside laundry room on mail floor and another “tool bag” upstairs hanging on a door. I keep hammer, screwdrivers, some basic tools in each. I have found it to be very convenient not to have to run to the garage to the real tool box.
I love your tips ! I have my keys 🔑 always in my coat pocket including a spare since at some point I lock myself out . During good weather I have a key hook behind the door where my wall calendar is . Mask 😷 are always in my purse 👜 disposable ones in my car for just in case . Phone chargers set up where we sit most of the time . Hubby sits on the love seat , so I use a small command hook to keep it off the floor, mine is by my chair and desk area .
I love it! I have an inbox in my office which is a landing spot for papers, mail and so on. I’ll review once a week: pay, file away or shred them. My doors are metal so I use magnetic hooks to hang out masks, very convenient!
I have designated places for things. My problem is that I have to develop the habit of putting things back in their designated spot. I have masks in my coat pocket, in the glove compartment, my purse and a bin by the door to the garage. We throw our used masks in the washing machine as we walk inside from the garage.
True story... I once lost my keys for 2 days. Found them in all places - the linen closet!! Then I remembered that I picked up the clean towels from the sofa to put away when coming in from work. That's how that happened. LOL. I put up a command hook as soon as could after that.
When I pick up the mail from my mailbox, I immediately discard the junk mail without my name on it, into my recycle bin. Then when inside, I separate out my junk mail with my name on it and shred it. This leaves me with my Important mail to go through.
This is exactly the type of help I need!

Along with the keys I also have a few hooks by the door for jackets or coats depending on the season, Also have one for my dog leash.

We have a ‘key box’ for extra sets of keys. Mine always go back in my purse. My phone goes on the side table by my chair near the charger.
