    Hi, DAWN is so concentrated you could cut down on the amount you used by a factor of about 5. In fact you don’t even need “suds” when using Dawn, it’s surfactant properties are that good.

    One thing I'm not a fan of is the metal strainer. I think the wire screen can add dent's/scuff marks to the pellets. I do use a plastic colander though for the rinse. Also I put the pellets in the colander, inside a bigger plastic bowl so as they are being cleaned the dross falls through while cleaning.

    I use finish detergent to cut the water surface tension when panning for gold. Figure it will work also for cleaning pellets...

    Yeah, it's one of the best degreasers that can be found.... I don't know what kind of stuff is on those pellets as a release agent, so I tend to overdo it, just for good measure

      I always wash my pellets, just due to that fact. I don't know what is on them, I always want to get it off. It's NOT a lube, like a lot of people think, it's a release agent from the manufacturer. I wash them to start anew.

      Belinda, this is a process that a lot of people do not agree with. As a competitive shooter, I can say it does not hurt. The amount of slag that one finds after washing pellets will be enough to see it makes a difference. Thank you for watching my channel

      @@sniperxbow60 We see little controversy in ensuring our bulk pellets don't lead up our bores . And we think you rock for putting out the video . Do you have any thoughts on Hex Boron Nitride for a dry PCP lube ? Subscribed btw . Might be an interesting topic right there . Also since my husband is a bullet caster we are curious about your thoughts on a swage set up from say 17 to 25 grains or so if you have any thoughts on that . Thanks again and best regards , Belinda and Brad .

      In particular a system that could utilize our standard RCBS reloading press .

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@belindaclaytor3912 all of my swaging equipment is made by Corbin, including the press. The dies I use in the Corbin press will not fit in any standard reloading press. Corbin does make dies that can be used in a standard reloading press, but particularly with larger calibers, you would physically have a tough time doing it. Corbin presses have a cam like action that makes the process a lot easier than a reloading press. You could probably get away with .177, maybe .22, but not larger.
      I haven't tried any type of dry lube, and I probably won't, the Krytech and Pledge work well. They actually do dry, as both of these lubes are a true wax.

      Bong Kaos, Don't know where you live, but whatever goes down the drain in my country, is NOT drinking water. The amount of contamination is minimal, and almost every top competitor I know, does it the same way, regardless of what country they live in.

    have you ever noticed if your washing and waxing process adds dings to skirts or heads of pellets? have you tried hBn (hexagonal Boron Nitride) for lubing at all?

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not used hBn for lubing. I use either Krytech, Pledge, or nothing. All of my barrels do not necessarily like lube, but many do. In the washing process, I do not notice any skirt deformation, or dings on the heads. I sort them in several different ways, so I know my pellets are all 100% going into the washing and lubing process. I have a cheap, but good Amazon microscope/ high power magnifying glass that I inspect the domes with. I usually only inspect them this way for major Grand Prix matches or nationals.

    How do you dry your pellets after washing? I see you use cold water for the rinse, why cold? Could a hair dryer be used for drying.

    Have you tried: 3-IN-ONE 120070 Lock Dry Lube, or Full Synthetic 2-Cycle Engine Oil?

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas, I never used it, only because a lot of those dry lubes have graphite in them, and graphite, even though it's fine, has abrasives in it.....I'd rather use something that is liquid based, if it is not, much like those dry lubes, have particles in them. That's why I basically stick with liquid wax based lubes.

    Hi Tom. Do you wash n lube your swagged slugs as well as your pellets? Just curious.

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rachel,
      As of now, I do not lube my slugs, when I begin shooting them more often in my airguns, I will. 95% of all testing and results are from others that have given me feedback on their performance in different types of airguns. From the most part, what I have found, is the hollow base in any head shape is basically useless. Flat base is a more accurate option. I also lightly tumble the slugs in a rock tumbler for 4-5 minutes to deburr them, and knock off the additional lead crumbs that are produced during the swaging process. In the future, I will probably wash and lube them, for my personal use. I would recommend that anyone that uses my slugs to do the same.
      Thanks for the question, and your interest on my content.

    were can I find kry tech oil does walmart sell it or is Lemon Pledge better witch do you recommend....

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honey Bee, you can get Lemon Pledge at any large grocery store that sells food as well as household items for cleaning. You can find Krytech in a bicycle store. It's a liquid chain wax. The company that makes Krytech is called Finish Line, so if you can't find it under Krytech, try Finish Line. My bicycle store didn't have it, but they found it in their catalog, and ordered it for me. Had it in 2-3days. As to which is better.....that's a loaded question. You'll just have to try them. I have guns that like both, and shoot the same. I have guns that like one or the other, and I have guns that don't like lubed pellets at all. It's a trial and error game, I'm afraid.

    What other oil can i use on my pellets that won't Diesel, in my Nitro Piston break barrel rifle??

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honey Bee, you can safely use both Krytech made by Finish Line, or Pledge. I use Lemon Pledge because you can smell the tin, and easily determine that the pellets are lubed with it. Plus, it's relatively cheaper than Krytech. Both of these are waxes, have no petroleum content in them. They are both perfectly safe from dieseling in a break barrel of any kind. Thanks for commenting and enjoy the videos.

      @@sniperxbow60 hi there. With the lemon pledge is barrel cleaning easy or does it like take a bit more to clean the bore?? My rifle is shrouded so if it tends to be a pain to clean. If this way keeps it clean and accurate a long time im happy.

    • @sniperxbow60
      @sniperxbow60  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shawndubay4050 every barrel is different, even same models from the same manufacturer. All of the lubes mentioned in the video are popular lubes that shooters use. Lemon Pledge in particular, can prevent lead fouling in the barrel......or not. What I would recommend, is, without line, figure how often you must clean your barrel, as far as shot count goes. Then try a lube. If it still needs to be cleaned with the same amount of shots, then that lube didn't work. Try another, and another if need be. You'll just have to experiment and find the right one for your barrel. There's nothing written in stone that this will work, or that will work. It's trial and error.

      Top shooters in the Field Target discipline in the US do this at a minimum. It prevents accuracy losses due to lead shavings left behind from the production process. Top Benchrest shooters will cull their pellets in many different ways, including ultra precise air gauge measuring devices.
