    Hollywood Weight Loss Secrets
With Kim and Khloe Kardashian losing a lot of weight in the last few months there has been a lot of talk about the possible methods they used to lose the weight. Many have speculated that it was not dieting or starvation as Kim claims that made Kim lose the extreme amount of weight. In the case of Khloe a lot of people have notice that aside from her now tiny butt, her arms have gotten incredibly thin as well.
Social media has been buzzing about them having had everything from weight loss surgery to injectables for weight loss. We can use the cases of Kim and Khloe as a catalyst for talking about a subject that I have long wanted to talk about which is how people in the entertainment industry / Hollywood actually lose weight.
In this video I will discuss the actual methods celebs use to lose weight; at the end of the video I’ll give an opinion on how I think Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian may have actually lost weight given the limited amount of evidence we have.
Methods discussed include gastric sleeve and medications; amongst other unknown ways. We will also discuss recent rumors of Kim Kardashian having gastric sleeve surgery. Diets, pills like Ozempic and weight loss will be discussed as well.

As a fat loss coach- for Kim to have lost +7kg in 3 weeks there is absolutely no chance she was eating any food at all to be able to lose that weight. Unless she literally only ate cucumber there is no way she could have done that naturally. Celebrities seem to think that we have 0 basic understanding of biology and that you physically cannot starve yourself for that long when there is food available. I actually cannot stand the insane and unrealistic standards these people set. Weight loss takes A LONG TIME!!!!! It took a long time to gain the weight which means it will take a long time to lose it.
As a human, you deserve so much better than the self loathing and shame that can be caused by seeing these people “lose weight” so quickly and wonder where your self control and discipline is. It’s not you.
Thank you lorry for making these videos you are helping so many people

Regarding the special snowflake comment to those who are perplexed at it and those calling it bitter; I'm saying it ironically. If you have ever read through my comments there are always comments from people talking about how "perfect" they are whilst at the same time calling out flaws of others; these people commonly have no profile photo as well. I've had gastric sleeve surgery. I am 8 months post op and have lost 93 pounds so far. I want to explain a few things... first, surgery, by no means, is the "easy way". This surgery was long and difficult. I had a stroke during my operation. I woke unable to see or move my arm. I urinated on myself because I lost control of my abdominal muscles. This is reality. I was very lucky and my sight returned and with physical therapy, I have regained most use of my arm/hand and abdominal muscles. There is still weakness. Second, I DO experience hunger. Though it is not frequent and my meals are very small, I do feel hunger at times. Third, you MUST be active and change your eating habits if you expect to keep the weight off. Your stomach can and WILL stretch back out if you simply go back to eating the crap and large portions. My diet remains high protien and fiber, low sugar, carbs and fat. This is my life from now on. If you're not ready for this, don't do it. Fourth, you MUST be in vitamin supplements for the rest of your life. I take my pills daily. But my body is not taking the iron as it should. I will now need infusions once a month.
These are just some things I need to take account of every single day. Add on that my hair fell out (it is starting to grow back). My sister also had the surgery and she almost died from a rare reaction that caused a blood clot in the artery from her heart to her liver. She is now on the transplant list
So.... before you jump to think you can just have this done to lose weight "easily". DO. YOUR. RESEARCH. I'm happy I live in NY and here you cannot pay cash for the surgery. It must be medically needed and approved through insurance.
On the reverse side however, my T2 diabetes is in medical remission. My high BP and cholesterol are controlled without medications. My heel spurs and joint pain are gone. My asthma is non existent again. But I had a stroke to get here....
Sorry for the rant. I just wanted to provide a realistic expectation of bariatric surgery. And yes, I would absolutely do this all over again knowing what I know now. 💛

I actually had a stroke a few years ago (younger than 40) and now I’m getting gastric sleeve in September after taking 2+ years progressing through medical clearances and nutrition/behavioral counseling to determine that I want to pursue it. It is serious SERIOUS surgery that should only be considered as a final tool to vastly help improve and prolong your health and surgery for most any reason involves a risk of bad outcome.

We have many patients on long-term vitamin therapy, who lose their hair and sometimes even their teeth if they lose track of their good habits. It is NOT a quick fix and we do everything to make sure our patients know what they’re signing up for and we bend over backwards to keep them healthy. The big problem is the isulin resistnce is behind obesity yet the oharm world primarily looks at blood glucose only.. I mean why else would they treat insulin resistance in diabetes with more insulin? Eye roll. Low caeb/ketogenic/carnivore diets have been eaten for all of humanity until agriculture and covilization became a thing. Unfortunately that experiment has made 92% of american adults cardiometabolically sick. Guidelines for t2d over 6.5% hga1c? Why is that the case when we have legitimate ways of controlling it without medications (metformin is a special case, similar to rapamycin as theyre similar to a fasting state). Also considering permanent affects from high blood glucose occur at 6.0% consistently..and prediabetes is at 5.8!! Very very sad state humans are in. Food quality is life. Hi Lorry, I had a lap band, which is an implant that restricts the stomach, having a similar effect to a gastric sleeve, but reversible. One thing I want to mention is that these procedures also come with LOTS of dietary restrictions, and not easy ones to live with. They are not for people, like me, who eat their emotions, binge, eat out of boredom, etc. I wasn’t able to control my diet before the operation and nothing changed afterwards. You can only eat very small portions at one sitting. If you do overeat, it comes shooting right back up, instantly…. So uncontrollable sudden projectile vomiting, not so cute (which would then make sense that you are very careful in public). Other restrictions include not ever being able to eat harder foods like steak, bread, raw fruit & veggies, any foods containing liquid, anything with a skin or stringy… no matter how small the bite, only soft foods, no liquids 1/2 before eating, while eating & 2 hrs after. So this also means you can’t have soup, sauces or gravies, céleri, pineapple, raw tomatoes, lettuce (it clings going down), cereal, grapes, even jello or pudding was an issue. Loads of vitamins and supplements, but in tiny sizes only. It amounts to making your stomach into a funnel and whatever can’t get through is blocked then sent shooting back up. Not fun, or easy. In my case, I got bronchitis about a year in & the coughing displaced my lap band… you guessed it, years of being starving and nearly nothing staying down & throwing up multiple times a day no matter how careful I was. And this is only the tip of the iceberg… NOT worth it.

Doesn't the dsm state it has to be compulsive, and not intentional? Like someone dieting before a wedding etc. A mental disorder is when there is no control, and is compulsive. It's very dangerous to throw around diagnosis like that. Especially that anorexia is the 1st or 2nd disorder with the highest mortality rate. I wish you strength and love and great job!! You totally can do it. Just remember if another human can you can too.

    • @kingralphyforever
      @kingralphyforever 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Like your aunt and her hip is A perfect example so your aunt At the time wasn't able to stop the compulsion to feed no pun intended said disorder, To the point where she needed a hip replacement that is where it becomes different from I don't know maybe a teenager that just wants to lose weight I don't know, To someone with an actual diagnosible illness by the DSM that is not at ease so they are dis-ease. As in not at ease. But someone for example like continuing like continuing whatever their method is knowing that they're gonna need a hip replacement or knowing that you know some other God forbid her reflect results of said disorder or like someone who will be out of we'll be at a party and leave to go to the bathroom and do whatever their method is it has to impact your life for an extended period of time more often than not and also has to be compulsive like OCD. Where there is no control I'm not really sure I don't recall about body just for you with it I'm on shore so I won't speak on that but again again I am very proud and I wish you continued success youAre a hero and superstrong and I can only imagine everybody that will read your comment that has been in the same position or is won't feel alone when they read it good job and thank you for sharing Ps I'm not a psychiatrist. I study it for pleasure. I just love to see why we do the things we do for ex when I'm stressed I pluck my hair LOL this is dis-ease and compulsive making it a diagnosis due to: its not intentional but I don't even realize I'm doing it, I can do it in my sleep, and also the interpersonal part of it is. Like idk if I played with my hair to much and didn't go out because of it and canceled plans, when I very much wanted to go is a good example of when something is a diagnosis or not. But I see u warrior. My love to you and ur aunt., I dated a 47 year old. I could see him needing a hip replacement by 50. My mom got new knees in her 60s. Please if you would like to add anything I'm all ears. I think it's important to talk about these things. The days of suffering alone are over. What do we have to hide. But again if I pull my hair. I have to wear a hat or won't leave the house this is another perfect example cuz is disrupts my life to the point of extreme discomfort. I believe to be diagnosed (and not just for insurance money, which many kind doctors will do. They will check another box so your insurance will cover it. ) if I recall you have to have 5 of the 7 symptoms for longer then 6 months which disrupts every aspect of your life. It's scary sometimes but fear is only the unknown.

Initial hair loss is common (going through it right now) and you have to take A LOT of vitamin suppmements for the rest of your life. I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia for decades. I am so thankful to see you doing these videos. I only wish something like this existed back when I was younger and really struggling with hating literally everything about myself, but it makes me happy that so many people now have channels like yours as an educational resource. keep up the good work!
I also want to mention that in November 2020, I finally found the best general practitioner (family doc) of my life. I saw her recently and asked about Ozempic and she told me she believed in me, knew I’d lost weight the “right” way (eating healthy, working out) and that I didn’t need it…but she also said IF I felt I still wanted to try it, she’d refer me to a weight loss specialist who would work with me. The main point she brought up was not the Ozempic itself, but the side effects. She said that I’m super healthy and she didn’t want me to risk that for a “quick fix” type of thing. I’m so grateful for her honesty. I can’t imagine how these medical “professionals” will prescribe anything and everything to any celeb who throws money at them. That definitely does NOT fall under “first do no harm” in the Hippocratic Oath. 🤨

As someone who cares for a diabetic family member, the thought of giving diabetes medication to a non-diabetic is terrifying. The results can literally be deadly very quickly.
EDIT: People taking these medications for non-diabetic MEDICAL reasons is not what I have issue with. Most medications have multiple purposes. I'm not diabetic but I have insulin resistance and fatty liver disease so it is incredibly difficult to lose weight, so my specialist doctor prescribed Ozempic. One thing I’ve wondered about Kim’s and Khloe’s “hours on the treadmill” and other exercise is the affect on their joints given how asymmetrical their bodies have been. It’s baffling how they are able to jog and do certain weight-bearing exercise with the butts and hips they’ve had and, though now smaller, still have without stress on and pain from their joints. As one who has had knee pain since my early twenties due to the very common axis ratio of my hip to knee joints, which affects how and what exercises I can carefully do without resulting pain, I listen to them going on and on about their grueling routines and really wonder.

Personally, medical doctors did not take my bowel illness seriously until i was so underweight i was hospitalized at risk of death. I asked for help earlier but nobody cared i was skinny why be upset? I almost died and have long lasting complications from losing vital fat deposits and nutrition. FAT IS HEALTHY . You are not fat, you have fat--make the distinction. Fat literally holds your organs in place, it helps digestion, it stores nutrients, it keeps you warm, protects your bones, i can go on

Thank you so much for doing this video. I've been struggling to lose weight due to my age of 42, stress, and fatigue from my MS. Seeing Kim and Khloe over and over looking smaller and smaller does get me down. Kim especially because it happened so fast, and I've been trying so long and so hard and trying everything without much luck.

I didn't think about getting enough nutrients with the gastric sleeve. I know here in the UK with our National Health Service you have to lose 10% of your existing weight, then go for an assessment with a therapist then and only then you go for the operation. They are quite strict. The problem with a gastric band is that you HAVE to be in a good place mentally (mind you to lose weight properly that should be the case anyway). I don' t agree with the Kardashians saying how they have lost weight when you can see Khloe's ribs as well as Kim's. Very disappointing when they have such a huge young fanbase. It like all these stars in their 50's looking like they are 30 and claim they do nothing; I am so sick of celebrities not owning up to what they have had done. I know, they don't have to but a lot of them are selling products or endorsements anyway pertaining to their looks when we know its surgery. I think Nicole Kidman is another one to remain so thin or maybe she's naturally thin but that's not a problem to me because she's not pushing a product in your face claiming it helps her too. Thanks for the great video.

In my whole life I’ve only ever met one genetically gifted person.
She was my neighbour and my friend. After she gave birth to her second child she came back 3 days later from the hospital with a flat stomach, not only that she had one teeny tiny stretch mark.
Ya, my jaw dropped and she told me the same thing happened with her first. She was so slender but not ribs showing etc. Her full pregnancy bump was small too and she literally snapped back within days.
Super super rare! She said she mom was the same.
That’s how you can tell if someone is naturally blessed or they are starving themselves or doing other things. Naturally blessed people look normal, they don’t have their collar bones protruding, or spines and ribs sticking out of their skin. Their muscles aren’t hanging off their bones like chloe under arm muscles.
Their body weight is normal and they look healthy.
I miss her, i moved away and we lost touch. I’ve never met in all my years another genetically gifted person that’s how rare it is.

    • @janes431
      @janes431 2 ปีที่แล้ว +29

Kind of inaccurate to say you can tell when someone is starving themselves. Thoughts like those lead to the perpetuation of things like medical bias (automatically assuming a persons health bc they appear underweight) and are just generally damaging. My bff is stick thin naturally, but people are rude to her because they assume she starves herself at once glance. It’d be just as rude as assuming about any other human being, and it’s weird to say “naturally blessed people look normal” like you have magic eyes that decide what’s normal

Simply cutting out sugar beats all of these hands down. I have tried every single diet /fad I can think of since I had my child 8yrs ago now before I was pregnant with him I basically had eating disorders I was obsessed with keeping slim as possible, nothing works at least not long term, the only thing that has finally worked for me is cutting out sugar almost completely unless I have a real strong craving then I will allow myself a little bit, the longer I go without the least I crave.
That together with just eating a well balanced diet with lots of vitamins and minerals, veg, fruit and remember anything high in calories have in moderation, worked instantly the weight started to drop off. The easiest 'diet' ever, keeps me in good shape not stick thin and unhealthy looking, just slim and full of energy.

My childhood best friend got gastric bypass surgery. She was extremely overweight 400+ lbs. She ended up losing a lot of weight. However she had SO much loose skin. Her boobs hung down to her bellybutton. Fast forward 10 years and she started developing some health issues. She was in and out of the hospital 10+ times in a year. She had go have pig skin grafted onto her skin because it started to slough off. She passed away from sepsis, VRE and something else I can't remember 😢 watching her slowly die was the most traumatic experience I've ever been through.

Lorry, thank you for pointing out not just the health risks here but also the fleeting results of these methods.
Beauty is tempting. And our desires often overpower our judgment of risk. Sometimes that’s ok.
But with these weight loss methods, people are taking their lives in their hands for just a short few years of physical beauty. 15 minutes of fame followed by a lifetime of medical consequences.
That’s only worth it to the ultra rich with cash to burn and nothing to lose. Those whose success has only ever come from looks. They are not an example to be followed.
As always, Lorry, your mission here is beautiful. Your sense of ethics/morality is strong. You’re not afraid to speak out, and you do it with clarity and precision.

Thank you for doing this Lorry! I've heard of a lot of celebrities taking Adderall, one of the ADHD drugs you referenced. I've especially wondered about Lisa Rinna from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, because she's in her late 50s and is super slim and lean and sometimes seems hyper.
I had no idea about the diabetes meds. It all seems really dangerous and unnecessary.
What's interesting about Kim K. is she didn't even totally fit into Marilyn Monroe's dress. The back had to be left partially open, which is why she's wearing the fur cover in some of the phots.
Whatever work Khloe has done has been drastic to me. She looks like a different person from who she was about 10 years ago.
I'm in my 50s and have noticed changes in my body, especially around my stomach. It bothers me but I'm trying to exercise and eat well. I wish I could learn to love my body no matter how it looks. It's been a lifelong struggle, and aging makes it harder because I feel powerless over the changes.

Someone of her age and hyper may actually be undiagnosed with ADHD. I know a few women in their 50s and 60s this certainly applies too, they are constantly on the go and need to keep busy and just grab food because they need to eat something, they are all super slim and tiny framed women and just hyper. I recognise ADHD in them for sure when I do interact with them, but they've learnt to deal with their ways u diagnosed for so long and seem to be happy enough at least.

I didn't change how I ate because i didnt feel the need and felt great! Eventually i started craving more calories and esp protein. I stayed lean with a teeny bit of added softness. I think it's possible to get super thin from working out harder if your eating doesn't increase. I do think it's important to listen when ur hunger starts to change due to the increase of muscle. Celebs like the Kardashian’s also have unlimited access to chefs, dieticians and personal trainers… they also have Nannies and house staff that clean and garden etc which gives them unlimited amounts of time to workout and focus on themselves. Regular people have to work 8-10 hours, do laundry, get groceries, clean our houses, take care of our kids leaving maybe 30 mins to an hour per day to work out. That’s why we will never look like them. I don’t put it past celebs to do these other things that Lorry was saying but just the above alone is enough reason to not compare ourselves!
