Great that you are bringing this up again! So many people out there still arguing that it is not possible without having big bucks upfront 😅 Thank you!
@@MoveAbroadandThrivethere's a talk about canceling RNE program for next year( 2025) on Facebook groups. I thought if RNE program still exists in 2025, it was only for individuals with a stamp entry to Mexico between 2022-2023?? Please clarify this. And it wasn't for anyone else who've had entry to Mexico in 2024 to apply in 2026?? So essentially what you're saying is that if they allow RNE program in 2025, individuals with 2024 entry stamp to Mexico can apply in 2026? When will they announce if the Mexican government will continue RNE program in 2025? Thanks
@@emikurti3416 There's always been talk of cancelling. The official word just came out from immigration saying the RNE program will continue through 2025, so it's official. Anyone with a stamp from 2015-2022 qualifies NOW ... Anyone with first entry in 2023 will qualify for the program in 2025 (they would need to let their tourist stamp expire). Total of 2 entries required at time of application
@MoveAbroadandThrive thank you. So I must have misunderstood you. I'll use my situation as an example. My first time entry to Mexico was in October 2024 on a tourist visa. I was given 180 days, but only stayed 2 months. My passport was stamped then for the first time. I plan to go back to Mexico again in May 2025 on a tourist visa so my passport will get 2nd stamp entry to Mexico then. So I would like to apply for RNE program in 2026. Since they have officially announced RNE program again for 2025, could I apply in 2026? What I'm asking is that in 2026, will they accept taking applications for 2024? And if that is official or we don't know when they will announce for 2024? Sorry I hope my questions make sense. I guess I'm trying to find out when it will be official for 2024 to apply? I know you said 2024 can apply in 2026. But that's if RNE program is still continuing by then .so when will they announce for 2024 to apply in 2026 in January of 2025?
My only question is if the person can stay here in Mexico from now until 2026, without ever leaving, and qualify. According to Valeria they may be able to, assuming of course the program is still active. But I haven't been able to get a straight-forward answer from anyone.
This is not legal advice from me, but... If December 2024 was the first entry into the country, and you stayed til January 2026, this wouldn't work, because there needs to be at least 2 entries into the country when you apply. But lets say you got an entry earlier in 2024, and came back a second time in October 2024, theoretically, you could stay through til 2026 (but most likely, your tourist visa would expire and you'd be in the country illegally). If you don't get caught or deported before Jan 2026, you could apply into the program. You'd pay a small fine for overstaying, but you would qualify. That's the short answer.
Can't say without knowing if you had other visits here. If 2025 will be your first visit into Mexico, you won't qualify until 2027 (that's why it's important to get this 2024 stamp in your passport now), otherwise, it'll cost you an entire year... And that's if the program is still valid for 2027... The further out you go, the possibility the program could end.

gracias
I’ll be there on the 26th
Awesomeness!
❤❤❤ What website validates that Mexico has now extended the program into 2025? I went on the Mexican Government website and I didn't see it.
My stamp on my passport is dated May 30th, 2023 to June 14, 2023.
they're processing 2023 in 2025 (so if you come back and let your tourist stamp expire in 2025, you can apply)

I have my residency. What about children?
You can enroll your children under your residency through 'family unit', assuming they're under 18
what if we’ve been there between 2020 and 2023?
You'd be good. Come back any time and let this visit expire and apply.
I will be there in February 2025 can i still do it ?
