First thing is no one should force you to do anything. Chances are that they could be getting a higher commission. Both have great careers in Australia in general. IT is just more popular and I would say easier to get a job in than engineering. Hope that helps.

You can do it back home too. If you have a good skill set then you don't need a course in Australia. More important is to have the skills
