I remember when I was in high school, on Halloween they put music and this song came out. One of my friends got up and start dancing and the whole room started to mimic her. 200 teenagers dancing on footloose, that was the best memories of school :) Thank you for reminding me of these moments
@Oli Western As I've learned, I've realized that dancing is not really difficult or complicated. You've just gotta learn the moves. Since I'm now retired, hell if I can do it, so can you. 😊
I go Line dancing once a week and this is more the style we do… with the actual steps. Some American line dancing is just bits of the dance steps mixed with other dance
Thank you! for my notes to look back on: 1. Grape Vine R, Grape Vine L 2. K step (start with right 3. Click heels 2 times. (Out-in) 4.Right foot: Heel Heel ( front), Toe Toe (back), Heel pop to Left Heel, Heel pop to the right, Heel Heel 5. Right foot: TOE (back), Side step to the right, Cross foot back and hit with your left, Turn RIGHT AND HIT WITH YOU LEFT Repeat
thats what makes the line dance scene in the movie so unrealistic in my eyes xD no way the main character who did not grow up in the South knew the dance immediately without doing one wrong step :D

This dance is called Footloose it is Choreographed by Levi J. Hubbard & Starla Rodgers a 32 count, 4 wall line dance. It does seem similar to Slapping Leather but it is a different dance. Slapping leather is Choreographed by Gayle Brandon a 40 count, 4 wall line dance. Which has many different variations as well as in one place I seen it as a 44 count dance. 2 different dances but it is common to find many line dances to have similar patterns. Just like the Electric Slide, Reggae Cowboy and Boot Scootin' Boogie. It just depends on where you dance and what part of the country you live in. Over the 20 years I have been line dancing and the many, many dances I have learned and taught. You would be surprised at how many of them seem the same but are created by different people. For Comparison Check out Electric Slide, Cowboy Boogie, Cowboy Motion, Booty Call, and Got to Be Funky. All different dances but very similar steps as Electric Slide which is Called Electric Stomp where I used to dance same footwork just different at the end. Just a little line dance info. Great video and happy dancing after all that's what it's all about.
