OM Goodness, you have far more of these than I do. Your craft room space is much larger than mine and I still forget where things are, which leads to the question. Do you know where every single thing you have is in your space, because I forget, especially after a 'TIDY-UP'. Thumbs up and thank you! x
What type of markers or pens should I look for, for making my own hand drawn prints for making paper beads? I am looking for something that will not run when dipped in my bead glaze. I find Sharpies tend to run on card stock.
Julie A. Bolduc huh, I am surprised the alcohol marker runs. You can try Chartpak markers, they are xylene based, You could also try heat setting before dipping.
Thank you for the information. I will try heat setting them the next time I use the sharpies on card stock. I will look up Chartpak on Amazon. Thanks again.!
I totally agree with what Jesse b said about Lindsay being "ours", in my house it's like my whole family knows her because I talk about her all the time. My non-crafty husband even loves her videos. I don't know about anyone else but I've seen TOO many videos where the person's craft room/studio is literally overflowing with thousands & thousands of dollars worth of supplies and all they post is haul videos. There are many collectors who don't make any art work at all, and I'm not putting them down to each his own....BUT at the same time I have yet to come across another artist on TH-cam with so much talent in as big a variety of mediums as Lindsay. I know I'll forget some but besides scrapbooking and card making, Lindsay makes jewelry, costumes, clothes, pinatas, juggling bags, works with clay, makes home decor items, art journals, paints in different mediums, children's crafts, doll clothes, duct tape items, beautiful gift wrapping, melting glass, AND she has MacGyver skills when it comes to duplicating over priced craft items with supplies she already has (ink blending tools, stamping wheel, glue dots, wink of Stella, shimmer sprays, refilling markers, sequins, beads, gellie plate...etc etc). We are all so lucky that she is gracious enough to share her knowledge with us. This isn't even mentioning all the supplies she has for the classes she teaches. Or when she stocks up on back to school sales and gets glue sticks for 25¢ or her Mom buys her a huge box of glue for her hot glue gun. You know how some neighborhoods have that one crazy lady that has like 40 cats....and people just randomly drop strays off to her?? Lindsay is lucky enough to have people that drop off art supplies to her. I don't know maybe it's just me...but I usually reserve commenting negatively....especially when I don't have all the facts. If you can't tell....you are loved and cherished ferociously Lindsay, thank you for all you do, feel better soon. =)
Danielle Skean I love the analogy of the crazy cat lady, I'm the crazy art lady and proud of it LOL! Oh look, another stray box of supplies, it is so true though:)
kinda related to this video but thank u so much for sharing ur haul with the markers and storage rack and bag I found one at Ac Moore today yayyyyyy I don't need any more markers but these will be good for my car art bag
In case someone is looking for another storage solution for their pencils, I bought some fantastic pastel drawers from Blick and Jerry's and I LOVE them. My pencils are stored securely and the leads the don't break. I can pull out each drawers so I can even take them with me if I want to draw somewhere other than my desk. They aren't terribly expensive, but I usually wait for a sale with free shipping and get them for about $19-20. Just go to www.jerrysartorama.com and type in pastel boxes in the search box and they will come up. They are three drawers and made a good wood that you can paint any color you might want. Anyway, that is just a suggestion for storing pencils if you have a good amount, like I do. Also, for storing markers in a vertical position, you can buy the cubbies from Studio 3 or the caddy from Design Memory Craft. Also, the recollections cubes from Michael's sell a small 2 shelf set with a divided marker/pen storage that you can pull out. Hope this helps some others.
I was wondering the same thing! I haven't amassed to much of a hoarde just yet, and want desperately to avoid purchasing items I won't really ever use. What are the can't live without a of this collection, Lindsay?
Agreed, I would love to see a video where you say what you use the most and can't live without, and what you rather regret buying. I appreciate that latter part might not be doable as you are sponsored by some companies so couldn't really say you didn't like their stuff after all. But saying the "must have" things would be really interesting :-)
Hey!, i wanted to know which paper is good for the tombow markers, i had tried a lot of papers, and none of them work ): i would really appreciate if you answer me
Have you ever tried the Master's Touch watercolor tablets. I believe they are Hobby Lobby brand! I was hoping they would be a step up from Crayola brand. They have the colors you talk about using most!
Hey Lindsey I want to get some colored pencils that are good quality and blend well but not to expensive do you have any brands you could recommended to me
I am currently giving the new Chameleon ones a whirl, they take the guesswork out of picking colors to blend, I will have a review soon (I have only been playing with them a few days but here is a link if you want to see them. amzn.to/2sYmVzl
Again, another awesome video. Thank you so much for taking the time! I just love to see the creative ways you've come up with storing your supplies.....cudos and cheers from Texas! (And, like one of my favorite wine makers used to put on his bottles: 'stay true to yourself and don't let the bastards get you down')...Oh Yea!
Dual tip flat. If it has one tip but has liquid ink like a waterbrush tip up but if it has a ink felt inside (like zig teal brush pens) tip down or flat.
+Yvette Williams career:) I order a lot of my art supplies from Jerry's Artarama and craft supplies from Joanns and Hallmark scrapbook but honestly a lot of my product comes from clients I work for. It would probably be a bit excessive for a hobbyist but it is necessary for a teacher.
Hey I love that lap desk your husband made. Lucky duck. Anyway, on your tombows- that look like a book- if those are dual ended, don't forget to store them horizontally. Btw- (I'm topic bouncing but oh well) so awhile back I went to Lowe's and gotta bunch of PVC pipe...I made the best fort ever made, in history. My youngest and I even named it. FT. ALa Golden Rod. Wow. I can't believe I just told that. But yep it was the best ever fort. Great, Now I'm getting the fort itch again.. Hmm. Angel's keeewwwll AS* The cats are too. Man they look so comfy. I think they might want a fort though. Hehe
Love these storage ideas! Q: Is there a universal 'Pencil Extender' that can fit most of my colored pencils? (Polychromos, Prismacolors, Derwents, etc...) Thanks, Lindsay! :)
I have to laugh because I been watching, and learning, and my eyes keep going to the aqua bird cage, I have one just like it only I sprayed mine purple I've never thought about using it as storage .See, always learning :-)
Could you please show us the actual thing the marker pens are stored in. It is clear and so hard to see what it really looks like. Can one buy these things? I really want to find a way to store my markers that takes up the minimum amount of room, but separates them enough to have colour families. So this looks like what I am after. More details would therefore be really great, please.
TinTeddyVideos it is a ZIG pen display from a scrapbook store, I bought it for $10 (for both, you can hook them together) when my local store went out of business.
Dear Lindsay, For starters, I absolutely love all your videos! They're so entertaining to watch, and they always give me motivation to work on projects. Secondly, you could do a giveaway with the art supply stack you didn't like so much. Sincerely, A fan who really wants it. *wink wink nudge nudge ~ lol :)
Need to replay this video but change playback to x0.5 to understand what she just ranted about for 4:13...its okay to pause and breathe while filming or make them a minute longer if u feel rushed...just a suggestion nice collection
Hi to all! Does anybody out there know of an affordable, easy and cute way to store markers vertically? I craft in our living room which cramps my "whatever works" kind of style lol! I played with the idea of making a foam board marker holder, but fear it will not hold up because I have Copics, Bic Markits, Sharpies and other alcohol markers. Plus water-based and acrylic paint markers too! Currently, the Copics remain in their plastic cases. The other alcohol markers are in a chipboard box on its side inside the box lid with a 6 pack cardboard holder inside the box to act as a divider. Water-based are in a plastic plastic container on its side. Paint markers are upright in a plastic pail. Metallic paint markers and specialty markers (Wink of Stella, etc.) are in small, shallow plastic containers. It looks hideous LOL! Help please :)
The problem with storing them upright is that the ink sinks to the bottom. I store most of my permanent markers in a plastic storage canister made to hold a pound of coffee and keep it on its side on a shelf; the pens stay moist just fine. I was doing some zen tangle stuff with black Micron thin point pens I set on end in a pencil holder. I used them yesterday for Lindsay's hibiscus pen and watercolor painting and all but the size 08 had dried out tips. I definitely need to find a place to store them laying on their sides.
I feel like these videos are not very good lately. I was really looking forward to this series as i'm always looking for new ways on organising (particularly craft supplies). But I feel like all you are showing us is piles of stuff. Sure it works for you but its not really organised.
Hannah A. I'm sorry, I do have a lot of stuff and I'm sure my organization style does not appeal to everyone and it looks chaotic to some. I am just trying to show what works for me and give folks some ideas. I know I don't have the perfect studio but it works for me:)
I think Lindsay is incredibly organized considering how much stuff she has. It may not seem like it is very organized if you only do some of the things she does. Personally, I am amazed at how organized she is considering that she has so many and different materials. Lindsay, I think you do an awesome job and want to thank you for taking the time to share how you store things so that we might see something that is helpful to us and implement that into our way of storing things.
The best organised craft areas are in magazines or online blogs. Of course they are nearly empty, but they are organised. Do a Google for storage and organisation ideas you will find plenty. I figure if you can see an open part of the wall the area isn't full yet. I just wish I had the overhead open floor joists Lindsay has so I could hang stuff from the ceiling.
Wow........I WANT your marker collection !! You have everything so organized Lindsay......thanks for sharing this video, so appreciate it.
OM Goodness, you have far more of these than I do. Your craft room space is much larger than mine and I still forget where things are, which leads to the question. elkeartsandcrafts Elaine Jones I can usually find whatever I need in 30 seconds or less:)
Love your organization with your plentiful craft items! Thanks for sharing.

My sweet girl, There is nothing frugal about you with your craft material. And boy can you talk. It is a pleasure listening to you.
what a collection you have, nice one.
Such an impressive collection. I was in heaven!
Tfs & take care 🌹
Great video! Thanks for all the storage ideas!
Where do u buy your supplies mainly?
What type of markers or pens should I look for, for making my own hand drawn prints for making paper beads? I am looking for something that will not run when dipped in my bead glaze. I find Sharpies tend to run on card stock.
Julie A. Bolduc what are you glazing with?
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich
I am using 2 coats PC-Petrifier, a wood hardener, then 2 coats of Liquid Laminate.

Nice video! I have a nosy question. In all of your art supplies, is there an item you wish you didn't buy so much of or so little of?
I was wondering the same thing! I haven't amassed to much of a hoarde just yet, and want desperately to avoid purchasing items I won't really ever use. What are the can't live without a of this collection, Lindsay?
