    Very helpful video. At the roundabout at 9:18 what signals would you recommend and was that the 2nd exit?

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chuck at 9:10 the sign shows Elstree left 1st exit, Shenley right 3rd exit. I'm assuming the examiner said 2nd exit (no mic sound allowed on tests), in which case it should be left lane and no signal on approach. However from the vid it seems like the student used the right side and took it like a 3rd exit...safe on safe off sometimes is applied but also depends what the wordings of the examiner were. If I get a chance will clarify with the examiners when I go up there again sometime.

      @@a4med thanks for the response. Also at 2:27 would you signal right to take that 2nd exit or only signal left when exiting

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrJammykid13 signal right then signal left to exit since the 2nd exit is a 'right 2nd exit' due to its position

    I got my test here may. Do you have any tips or more videos on the borehamwood roundabouts ?

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm assuming you're concerned with the large roundabouts? There are 3 of them. Sterling, Apex and Spur roundabouts.
      Sterling and Apex follow the lanes, its easy. They are spiral roundabouts so will lead you to your exit without haveing to lane change. Think I have a video on students doing them. Spur roundabout isn't difficult and is usually going from edgeware towards Watford 3rd exit.
      I keep meaning to drive there myself to make an easy video for you guys bit haven't had time yet.
      Sorry wasn't much help but all the best with your test.

      @@a4med yes just lane changes, dealing with other users etc. . The only aspect that makes me tense during lessons but I guess practice practice practice

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Paul Pablo main thing I tell my students is...be decisive when entering (go or don't...there's no 50/50)...but when lane changing it should be as calm and smooth as possible to avoid a problem...that's were the practice comes in...practice this part on roundabouts which are NOT spiral laned (mill hill circus is one example) cos if u can do this then the spiral laned ones are super easy

    Hi, I was wondering at 14:14 what they were doing? Seemed like they just turned around for no reason?

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct. Student turned into the wrong toad and was asked to turn the car around

      @@a4med Thank you very much, your videos are super helpful! I have my test in Borehamwood on Wednesday but I haven't driven there a lot before, I was wondering what parts you think I should really focus on when I practise there in the next few days please? I think from what I've seen the big roundabouts and dual carriageways are the best things to get used to?

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Samrahn thanks so much and I'm so glad the videos help, that's why I've started putting them up....with regards to what to practice...Borehamwood is quite straightforward, many situations where u have meeting traffic on side roads so make sure you're good with those. Going straight 2nd exit at medium size roundabouts where u must stay in lane and not 'straight line' the roundabouts (see my other video on this). And make sure you attempt the national speed limit roads cos if you haven't done that before it can be a surprise 😆 🤣 😂...apart from that you'll be fine...

      @@a4med Hahah, thank you a lot, I'm quite nervous for it. Watched your roundabout video and went to practise this again today, was very helpful. I've watched your videos for the past two days, my test is on Wednesday in the afternoon, would this affect the type of route I could be taken on? Or do you reckon just the same sort of thing as the previous videos? Thank you

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Samrahn tbh don't worry too much about the route...just be good at the few difficult things and the rest is literally just side roads. Don't rush and keep 2 rules I tell my students in mind:
      Never think you have failed at any time during the test (let the examiner decide what's a pass or fail)
      And always drive according to the lane you are in (if youre in the wrong lane just go according to the lane and mention you are changing the route because of the incorrect lane selction). Don't worry if this doesn't make much sense do what your teacher taught you.

    super helpful, thanks. did you pass this one. and were there any signals to be given on the double mini roundabout that you did.

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you...yes they passed this test.

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regarding the mini double roundabout at 29:40 it was a left at the first RA then right at the 2nd. Signals would be left then right. Always remember lane positioning is vital and if accidentally you are in the wrong lane then you must go according to road markings and positioning even if that means changing the route. Examiners directions are a request and not compulsory, safety comes first.

      @@a4med Hi, I have a DVLA driving test in its in Borehamwood, but they haven't provided an exact address, is Spitalfields house where they are?

    • @a4med
      @a4med  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Precolso hi...yes that's correct...the car park is directly opposite, just arrive 10 mins before your test and they will allow you to enter (press number 6 on the barrier machine). If you arrive earlier then park in morrisons car park for a while. If you have a teacher they will take care of all of that.
