This is my most favorite dnb song. It makes you think, it makes you move. When girls ask me what’s my favorite type of music I tell them drum n bass, they all ask me what is that or look at me weird. But I don’t care about people. I am an original dnb listener since the golden era of dnb, back in 1997/1998 was when I first heard the sounds as a teen 15 years old. And for some reason I was never into any other main stream music. I never even listened to radio, all I ever listened was my comfort, my love and the only thing that ever stood beside me through my most down times in life… drum n bass ❤️ I hold this genre dear to my heart, and I am 41 now. And till I die I will still listen to dnb, I ask to play this specific song at my funeral ceremony. DNB forever 🔊
I remember my friend burned me a Deftones mix CD and somehow this got in there. That was my first taste of d&b. Aside from the killer instinct snes music cd. I've been listening ever since.
Hmmmmmmm....maybe. It was too tech steppy and jump uppity for me by the end of 95. 93-95 was magic. The drums ended up missing and the scene splintered to its own detriment after that.
Great to see how DnB went from its early forms in the beginning of the 90's with jungle and hardcore techno and then evolved until the 2000's, always staying great while evolving.
Yeah but I would argue that creativity hit a wall with dub step. dnb is a lost art bro. Would be nice to see it come full circle and have a revival of some kind. I'm sure when shift hits the fan and raves and the like a huge again we'll have our day in the sun. Might be older than we are now but fuck who cares anyway right?
@@JoshuaS.2099 Exactly, listen to any of the early 90s DnB from Blu Mar Ten - there's an extravagant attention to detail. Liquid is good but a lot of the releases sound too similar to the last with minor melodic alterations. Early DnB just sounded completely unique on every production.
Nostalgic. Jungle music always sounds like the dungeon in an N64 game to me. Whenever I hear certain jungle I feel like I'm back under Toadstool Castle. Love it
@@llllJAUZllll First racing game I played that actually blew me away! Fully 3D with varied terrain etc. The circuit through the mountains with the red hazard lights in the walls, the industrial course with the bumpy log slope. Felt every judder!
This is f*cking BRILLIANT!!! I love the way this builds up and up, with those intense drum patterns! Wow.... Intense have made some mad shit!? Hehe... sheer wickedness :) xx
I know I'm gonna sound condescending, but jungle has never been associated with video games for me. just a very diverse culture of music and the people surrounding it.
@@konradmajonez77 Thanks, I'm bad at fast replies - Ya, i have an old analogue Yamaha System - Not sure if it is salvageable, i think I'd need a really nice sound system, so I'll stick to my studio and my KRK's, LOL.

Haha....my days! Way BITD I bought this for Streams Of Thought on the flip and hardly ever played this side....Infact I'd forgotten what this sounded like and played it just now on a whim....it's fucking wicked...better than SoT....and I've already got it (it's like having a new tune in the collection)! How many other flipsides did I unfairly overlook? Ain't played my wax for years!
Had the same happen so many times. I reckon if I went through all of my ignored b sides I'd probably find half of the tunes I've spent twenty years looking for.
What is the name of the tune by Intense called where it samples the character Mac in The Predator. "You give our position away one more time and I'll bleed you!". What's that tune by them called anyone?
Don't recognize it as a sample, but phil and jim used EMU Proteus and EMU Orbit rack modules back then which could easily produce a rhodes sound like that, with a bit of reverb and phasing.

two amazing cds, your friend got a real good music taste

but its devolving msotly, into a who makes the most badass serum bass sound for 5mins straight...

yesssss!!!! i luv music that reminds me of video games
This is exactly the feeling I get. Like my memories all replay in my mind like cinematic clips set to the music. Like floating through time.
I completely agree. Do you think perhaps that is because Super Mario 64's title screen theme uses a very similar break to this song?
The game I remember is POD! (Planet of Death, 1999) 😎

Drum & Bass is life!
Most beautiful song ever made, IMHO. Been addicted to it since 2003.
Glad someone out there has had the same experience. Small world. We all have more in common than we think. ✊
Agree!
I wonder what it is! Maybe the combination of these very loose almost deadpan drums and these super peaceful long patches.
I missed out on this one back in the day. Hearing it for the first time in 2022 and those drums are better than most d&b in the last 20 years.
Beautiful tune this.
I think you might not like to hear this but there's a needle jump at around 1:38 🤔thanks
One of the first intelligent/armospheric dnb tunes to grasp at my heart strings 💜💜💜🔥
