  • In this episode D shows you around Napa Valley.
    In 4 days D visited 12 vineyards:
Cliff Lede, Darious, Barnett, Nickel & Nickel, Spring Mountain, Mayacamas, Joseph Phelps, Robert Mondavi, Alpha Omega, Tom Eddy, Duckhorn and Prisoner.
Clear favorites to visit include: Mayacamas, Barnett for the incredible Mountain Views, Nickel & Nickel and Duckhorn for the beautiful property, Joseph Phelps for the elegance and Tom Eddy for meeting with the namesake legend in his cave.
    Alpha Omega was disappointing.
In addition, D and his friends went to some of Napa’s best restaurants, including the French Laundry, R&D Kitchen, Mustard’s Grill, Press, Bouchon and Bistro Jeanty. With the exception of Press, they are all worth the hype!

Just subscribed today. Thanks for sharing your experience in Napa! Looks like you had a great wine tasting adventure. Did you select these wineries based on previous visits or just trying new ones? I will be sure to add a few of these to my list. Enjoying your channel and evaluations.

      Hi Robert!
      Welcome to my channel.
Some wineries I visit every year, they are just to beautiful and cool (ie Mayacamas), others are enough to visit once (Caymus or Joseph Phelps).
With 500 wineries now in Napa, there is just so much to experience!

Great video D! Nice to see that you came out my way (west coast - I'm in Southern Cali). Man...great winery line up and oh yeah...The French Laundry! Would like to hear more about the trip...wines you tasted/purchases, maybe a breakdown of the nine course meal and the wine pairings, etc. Oh yeah...can't wait to hear about the "top secret" winery/vineyard. I haven't been to Napa (and Sonoma) in a long time but hope to soon. Used to go up there for work and would squeeze in some winery visits. So far, planning a trip to Paso Robles later this year (late Nov/early Dec) and then hope to plan a Napa trip for sometime in 2022. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to your new vid. Salud!

Living so close to Napa - it feels like my other "home town" and I love to see others enjoy my happy place. Yountville is just magical. I'm so glad you had a great experience. California is now "open for business" and since my nieces turned 21 during quarantine I have the pleasure of taking them on a maiden trip to Napa next month. Frog's Leap (I'm a member) the Farmstead for lunch, Yountville for a lovely walk after lunch, then a stop in at Chandon and finishing at Don Giovanni's for dinner. I love that I get to share this place with them. So Many hidden gems to help them discover in trips to come: Oxbow Market for oysters, V Sattui's for the simple people gazing, biking on the Silverado trail, spa weekend at the Hotel Villagio. (Don't tell anyone: but it's cheaper than a trip to Disneyland for a 5 star weekend and no kids peeing in the pool.)

Many of these wineries are certified sustainable which is great. We need to take it one step further like @GrgichHills and do REGENERATIVE ORGANIC, for the future of planet earth. No chemicals, no pesticides and taking care of the soil while sequestering carbon is job 1
