  • 30 day fishing challenge!!
    Last month I decided to set myself a challenge to catch a fish every day for 30 days. I was confident in my ability to catch a fish every day given the time… but time is something that we’re all short on. I work a full time job so I knew my biggest challenge would be catching fish during the work week. I scouted out areas close to home for several weeks before I decided to start the challenge. I knew this would test my abilities, my patience, and my sanity.. but at the end of the day the fish… and Mother Nature.. would be the determining factor.
    In this video you get just about everything. You'll see me fly fishing, spin fishing, and tenkara fishing. You'll see me trout fishing, bass fishing, and just generally going after anything that will bite. The name of the game was to catch a fish ever day, I wasn't too concerned with the size or species, nor was I concerned with what I was using to catch them. This was however an artificial only challenge... because let's be honest live bait would have been cheating. I caught trout several big brown trout, some rainbow trout, a few largemouth bass, a few smallmouth bass, some brook trout and more.
    The difficulty of this challenge was the lack of time, not necessarily the act of catching fish. I truly hope everyone enjoys this longer form higher effort TH-cam video. If it does well I'll do more similar videos in the future.

    Are stockers that easy to catch there in the Appalachians??? You kept saying going for a sure thing when catching the stockers. Where I’m from they aren’t that easy to catch cus you have thousands of people everyday pressuring them and sometimes you go 5-6 days in a row without getting a bite and there only like 10”

    • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I mean lots of people fish for them. I just avoid the days they stock, and then I don’t fish the holes right along the road 😂 they’re definitely the dumbest trout, so as long as I can find them I can usually get them to eat.

    Hey man,
    I just started watching your videos 3 months ago and you are a huge reason why I started fly fishing at 24. I just caught my first two trout out of Colorado (where I'm from). I am so grateful for your channel and get a kick out of all of your content. Anyways, I don't know if this is too personal, but I was wondering what you do for your full-time job brother. You and your brother keep up the amazing videos because it is so refreshing to see such honest and whilesome content.

Love seeing your challenge encompass so many species of freshwater fish using every means possible with skill to catch them. Let's end the hate!!! And realize the point is having fun catching fish using any tool in your arsenal that works for you. Well done bub!

    Awesome video!! That took a lot of dedication! As for those little spots on the smallmouth, they’re a nematode worm parasite that lives under the skin of all sorts of fish, the fish get them from eating snails, which get them from eating heron poop, and the herons get them from eating the fish! The snails and herons are just carriers, they never know they even have the parasites, it’s an interesting process!

Also that taking time for myself and to hangout with friends is important for your mental health LOL Of course there are other things fishing related, but honestly the weather was decent so time was more of the issue than figuring out the fish.
