    In this Exclusive interview to Radio Pakistan Shakir Ali talks about his education life from the school of Arts in Dehli, India. He also talks about how he came to Pakistan in 1952 and performed his services in MEW School of Arts.
    In this interview Shakir Ali tells us how much he liked Oil Painting and how the youth of today in interested in to painting and its all because painting is a good source to express their feelings.

    and he introduced the philosophy and developments in art to a generation of young artists.Shakir's position as a teacher gave him a special opportunity to influence the young artists of Lahore. Moreover, his friendly nature brought him in touch with a large section of the cultural world, his persuasive and sincere manner of talking helped him to bring round the young artists to his manner of thinking.Once a discussion with artists and art critics Shakir Ali said, "I am not totally abstract.

    Shakir Ali had received an extensive art education at the J.J. School of Art Bombay, the Slade School of Art, London, in France with Andre L'Hote, and in Prague, before he came to Pakistan. He began by painting in the style of Braque, making bull's heads and still-life in a Cubist manner Later, he found his own style in which human figures, horses and cattle were reduced to their basic structure in a few bold, powerful linesThere was masterly economy in his style and tremendous force in his line

    Shakir Ali [ شاکر على (1914-1975] was an influential modern Pakistani artist and art teacher. He was the principal of the National College of Arts in Lahore. He joined Mayo School of Art as Lecturer in Art in 1954 and after the upgrading of Mayo School as National College of Arts in 1958, he became its first Pakistani principal in 1962. Widely known to have inspired cubism among the artists of Lahore, he had a huge following of artists in Pakistan, most of whom were his students --
