    So I walked down to my mom and dads house this evening. She showed me her new front screen door. She started talking about this guy on TH-cam that is from Germany and is renovating a tiny home. I excitedly yelled, RENNOVATION EAST! She said yes. We have all been watching you and have not even known it. You inspired my senior parents to do some reno on the homestead. How cool is that?

      Your description reminds me of my grandparents house. We sat on the front porch at the end of the day with the lights off to cut down on bugs. There was often music (my great uncles were The Sunshine Boys) and we usually had either fresh, homemade peach ice cream or ice cold watermelon as a treat. I never felt safer. Most of those folks are gone now as this was in the 50's and 60's, but the memories are still strong. Blessings.

    Love the windows so much light! If you're planning on keeping the brick wall after you repair the crack. A suggestion only, to add more light reflection, a German shear over the bricks may look really clean? You mentioned the grass not being green, maybe not cutting it so low and watering in the evening not during the day hours, giving it time over night to drain down to the roots. It has been hot maybe the water is evaporating before it reaches the root system? Great video! Blessings.

I find folding laundry and gardening are my 2 chores of refilling my tank, not dishes though, I just want to drop all of them...lol. I am following closely as now the project is beginning to resemble American construction models I am familiar with. I smiled when you had all your OSB already measured and cut to go up, that sure did reduce the side wall stress factor. Till next week be safe, from Pennsylvania.

    Who else discovered this wonderful channel today, binged watched all videos and are now sad that they have to wait for more to come?? Also, can we take time to appreciate the fact that he re-edits his intro to include his previous video? I've rarely seen anyone else do that on here. Thanks!

    You should most definitely tear out the ceiling and make it a Cathedral style it would make the space look so much bigger

      Agree especially on the living/diner/kitchen room although I suspect the attic space may be full of critter excrement after years of abandonment. Not a pleasant job, but it would be worth it to have a light and airy feel as the ceilings are quite low and Andre is tall. He could keep the ceilings in the bathroom and bedroom if he wanted some storage space.

      I also agree... yes to taking the ceiling out...and cover the roof rafters with (Faux : like in this YT video th-cam.com/video/7ThegFcALiY/w-d-xo.html ) thicker wood.. to make it looks really authentic, more attractive, beam...

      picking up at the end of the day should be thought of as part of the job. It takes so many tools and materials to do any job, if they aren’t organized, if you can’t find them how will you get anything done? It already takes a lot of time to get a job done the right way. Time spent searching for things or moving everything around to have a place to work is time completely wasted. My husband doesn’t get this and it’s no fun sharing workspace with him.

There is just something so peace and rewarding about the whole process 🥰 I have thoroughly enjoyed your channel and content sir, keep doing what you are doing! I would definitely open the ceiling in the living room at least, make it feel less confined. Love your editing and voice overs! Making good progress. Will you be adding some sort of canopy over the new windows to protect from rain. I love the windows you have installed. Wish they were available in Australia.

    Getting rid of the flat ceiling would give you such a feeling of space especially if you put in a premade skylight

    • @marilynread364
      @marilynread364 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Install skylights seems to always bring on drama and regret. They leak darn it. They just always leak. Four friends installed them and four leaks occurred! Ponder this move carefully.
