Couple tips as a Japanese koi owner my self when using the sock net make sure u twit the handle to the side to stop the fish falling out and when catching don’t chase the fish jus follow it and be patient. They don’t get scared that way -but ur doing good keep it up

Great to see all those young lads helping out and getting involved. I think a good name for your mascot should one of the two below, but I do think the second one is best, especially when you're promoting young people getting involved with the aquascape lifestyle.
There is a folk tale in China, that if a Koi fish can jump across a specific water fall called Ryūmon (龍門, Lóng Mên in Chinese) it can became a dragon, which is a symbol of auspicious in China (Oriental).
Based on this, Japan made a thing called Koinobori (鯉のぼり) and related it to young boys, hope they could become a dragon (great man) in the further future.
