The RPG nerd in me wants to make a campaign version of this where you can slowly accrue different dice manipulation Powers as you go, perhaps come up with some challenging different boards to have to clear, and different opponents represented in some way you have to try and overcome or beat. You know you've got a good base game on your hands when my mind drifts from the simple design to more complicated versions. To me it doesn't mean the base design is bad, it means that works so well and is enjoyable enough that my mind starts to think of ways to make it even better towards my personal tastes. Good job! Thanks for showing it off.
This is a fun and simple game. Played three times in a row. I showed a few teacher colleagues of mine. They might teach their grade 5-7 students to play it. :)
Along with the mental math of adding scores, especially after a spare or a strike, flirting a bit with probability, and making a few decisions (one die or two, take the plus minus, or wait for the second ball, etc) it’s a good exercise for intermediate students and up. :)
I am enjoying your new entry, Rolling Pins. I am a big fan of Shut the Box. So Shut the Box with the bowling theme was a great idea. Success to you in 2021 Solo Contest. I will continue to play and offer constructive comment as I play more games and try to beat my previous scores.
Thank you so much. I'm also a big fan of Shut the Box. I always wanted to use that mechanic in a game. I'm very surprised no one combined it with bowling before. Lucky me. 😁I can really use all the feedback I can get. Much appreciated
Hey Buddy! Congrats on your first game and sticking your head out even more. Its a pretty simple, easy to learn game i think. I would call it a chill and play. Keep up the good work!
I could hear Matt screaming from beyond "Curse your dice" when you started rolling well lol Looks like a good game and really excited for you to have entered it into the contest!
Great job Veselko - love it! I reckon it's just about perfect. The only thing I was thinking was if you threw double 5s on the first throw (tenpins) - no other combo - it is a strike - otherwise the frame continues. I haven't played yet but loved the playthrough.
Fun! I've always enjoyed Shut The Box, and this is a great alternative because of the scoring. I got a disappointing score of 84 on my first game, and tried thinking of a simple rule change that could create higher scores with all of the same fun. I thought maybe allowing addition AND subtraction of pin numbers might work, but that makes it possible to get a strike on one roll every time!e The game is great as is. Thanks for creating and sharing it!
Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm trying to think of something to make the scores more in line with real life bowling, but it's a bit though without ruining the nice flow of Shut the Box.
One of the most relaxing things is being able to chuck dice without thinking too much what to do with the outcome--this fits the bill. I really enjoy it--thanks for sharing. Another question--I watched a review of your Battle For Cattle game--is it available for download?
Definitely seems like a quick and fun game. Only suggestion I might make is allowing you to use the +/- 1 from previous frames you didn't use. So you can use multiple but only if you didn't use them before so you can never use more than whatever frame you are on. Adds a little strategy into whether you want to use it or not. Or perhaps if you get a strike, you can use one unused from a previous frame. I figure you will likely use them most of the time unless you get super lucky with rolls on a couple frames but it sort of gives some incentive to not use the safety unless you need it. Just a thought. It definitely feels like bowling though, with the way the frames work and stuff. Excellent job. 😁👍👍👍
That's good thinking. If you have bunch of high numbers, very unlikely to clear the frame, you might decide to store your +-1 for future strike. Very nice. Thank you kindly.
Thanks for the share and good luck in the contest. I think this would get a bit more traction in the contest if you had some more "bonus" items.... things that trigger as you continue to score frames. Like being able to roll 5 dice if you have a score above X after Y frames... if you get 4 out of 5 of the same number... instant Strike! Things like that to spice it up like the pinball games.
Now that I have played this game a few times, I have one suggestion. How about if you roll a 12 on your first roll of either ball that is a gutter ball? BTW...I'm really liking this game. I grew up in a house of bowlers. I'm going to show it off on Christmas to the family
Interesting take. Lot of people recommended 66 or 55 to be automatic strike. But gutter ball, that's interesting. I'll try it out. Thank you for giving it a shot 👍
Suggestion: since there is a possible 12 strikes in a real game (9 strikes plus 3 stokes in the tenth frame), shouldn't you have 12 of your frames instead of 11?
this is the type of game i love! you start with a lot of options and then slowly back yourself into a corner, really excited to try it out!
That's great to hear. Thanks much 😁

Thank you. Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing. Maybe when I improve the game a bit, I'll focus my thoughts on some sorts of campaign.

😁 That's amazing. Thank you so much. I never expected this to be a classroom game. Let me know if you get any feedback 👍

'Shut the Box' is a great mechanic to use in a bowling p&p game. It would probably work in others, too.
Love the simplicity of this. I'll have to give it a try later.
Thanks so much 😁

Thanks a lot 😁I like the tenpins idea. I was thinking about some other ways to get an instant strike, but this one is really elegant. 👍
It looks like a mix of bowling dice and shut the box board game. Thanks for introducing a great game. I'm going to watch the video.
Thank you 😁

Yes, it is. I added the link in the description. TH-cam doesn't like links in the comments. 🙂

@@VeselkoKelava My pleasure... happy to to a few tests for you when it drops.
Cool game :) Simple and fun!
I’ll definitely try this, and I might shoot a video on it because it looks like a great game.

Nice game! BTW, How do you make your own pnp games and what software/app do you use?
I do everything in MS Paint. That's why it looks so professional 😂
@@VeselkoKelava Thanks! it must be hard to draw it using your mouse!😀!
Don't you need 12 Frames? What if you score a strike in the 10th and 11th frames?
I didn't have room for 12, but I'm moving the rules to a separate page, so I can add another frame and bonuses.
I agree. I'm going to make a game with 12 frames and try it.
👌
U made It?
Yes, sir, I did 😁
@@VeselkoKelava cool, i always wanted to make a PNP like Anno

These are the rules without the shaded pins?
