There is something truly exquisite in the apparent simplicity of your films Erik. A genuine appreciation of the beauty around you and of being in the moment. A true pleasure waiting for a Sunday morning coffee with you
The scene selection, the pacing, the framing, the timing, the sound and the silence: everything forms a perfect sentiment. Like the shot of the old barn: placed slightly left of center, with its door giving it a 'direction', it looks to the right, hopeful, expectant, knowing? You caught an ellipsis in its winter plumage.
How serene, skating on a perfect frozen river. I don't imagine you get many days in winter where you can skate like that. Soon there will be too much snow. Always a treat to see you make coffee.
What a beautiful way to travel! I appreciate all the time it takes to make these beautiful videos. We dont see all the work that needs to be done between clips to make it flow so nicely, and all the editing once you get home. Thanks for all you do.
Ah, that sense of speed, those sounds... Being the first one on virgin ice, looking listening, sensing - is it ok?... That odd feeling one gets walking after skating... It all loosens dear memories. And a lump in my throat, knowing I will never do this again. Thanks anyway!!
This is one of the most relaxing and satisfying videos I've ever listened to on this channel. Your work has inspired me to go visit the mountains around me and appreciate the beauty each season brings. Really wonderful work Erik!
I am an ice rink skater and rollerskater also. I live in Linares, south of Spain. You can not imagine how much I envy you skating on this frozen surface of the river!
Erik, that was really cool!!! It was like we were a drone flying up river! Really nice, really tranquil. I would have been a little nervous hoppin on so close to where it was water but I know you grew up there and know your stuff. Gliding up that river reminded a lot of some of those fighter battle scenes in Star Wars😃! Thank you for taking the time to set up those action sequences like you did that must’ve took some doing. Take care sir. NQU
Tack.
Another exquisite video! Now there's another thing I MUST have... Nordic Ice Skates. Thanks, mate!!! Wait.. no frozen rivers in Texas??? Bummer. You are so lucky to live in the vicinity of such natural beauty.
Such peaceful simplicity...skating looks so effortless...just perfect, again! Love the sepia tones of the landscape and another old building with so much character. Thanks so very much.
Thumbs up, Erik! I guess that's the quick way home! Fabulous fun to skate along with you. The frozen snowy world is always so quiet and magical. Just beautiful. Many thanks.
👍👍👍 Frozen Rivers .. Winter Autobahns. Great Action and Stills Visuals well complemented by the Sound Track .. never disappoints 😊. And of course, there is the Coffee 👍 .. an eagerly anticipated accessory. I've just finished off my first cup watching this. Thanks Erik, for sharing .. take care ..
a truly beautiful video! really like these mini-adventures. they help me remember that even the "small" trips outdoors have great meaning and are good for soul and body.
I look forward to your winter videos every year, and this one is on another level. Absolutely love the skating views, with the calm peace of the landscape in between. Thank you!!
Is there anything you can't do I wonder how much distance you covered. You definately make my sundays long may you continue taking us on these journeys we can only dream of
Thank ou for such a great video. Maybe the next you show HOW to get out of the ice if a little one decides to try your awesome skiing and misjudges the ice thicknes. Thank you again for such an awesome vid!
I know it's not related to this video, but I'm curious if you've ever used tent hammocks for camping. They seem to be gaining a lot of popularity in the US.
Hello Erik, Today is the day I hope to find success in clearing snow from the river for this season's Family ice skating rink. Thanks for such a great edit here. *
Looks amazing! I went skating myself in Stockholm recently, it was really great. I saw that your carry a Nalgene water bottle in your other videos, do you have issues with the water freezing? Do you carry it in a insulated sleeve?
Wonderful! By the way, which brand of Nordic skates are most popular in Sweden? Lundhags? Zandstra? OAC? Isvida? Any other? Last year I have purchased for me, my wife and kids the Dutch ones - Zandstra, which came already with installed NNN BC bindings (we have chosen those bindings to use the boots also for BC skiing). And binding position is as much to the back of the skate. Basically what I see from your video. However I saw number of videos and pictures on Lundhags skates (T-skate I think) with the same Rottefella NNN BC bindings mounted as much to the front of the skate, so that if the skate is your size you have at least of 5 cm of skate platform behind your boot heel. Why do different manufacturers mount the bindings differently? Is it related to the profile of the blade?

I would not chance a word , that's the I and think Sir

Thank you Erik, this was just beautiful. Someday, I hope to try river ice-skating.
Erik, the coffee ceremony is always enjoyable, thank you.
Have a wonderful time with your family, erik 🎉
the best skating footage on the tube. Wondering with the river ice covered with snow how you are able avoid any hidden debris?
Good point ... good eyesight I'd reckon. Bushyboy Oz.
Only a dust of snow or else he would not be able to skate .
What a wonderful trip on the ice.Enjoyed watching this.
What a thrill to glide down the frozen river with you,Erik! I never imagined adventuring on ice skates! It's a thing in Sweden, obviously! 😀⛸

Спасибо за зимнюю прогулку на коньках. Приятного кофе-пития́.
Holy moment !
A visual and audio delight as usual. Thank you.
We were always taught never to go near ice on a moving body of water. How do you quantify the risk of skating on a frozen river?
Absolutely outstanding! Well done. 👍🏻
Hi Eric, very nice video. Beautiful nature in a winter coat. Interesting skates, I see them for the first time.☺🌲🌳🌲❄❄❄
Loved the video, so relaxing and beautiful to view! 🙌🏽
I know it's not related to this video, but I'm curious if you've ever used tent hammocks for camping. They seem to be gaining a lot of popularity in the US.
Good afternoon! What model of skates do you have?
Ser underbart ut! Jag skulle nog inte våga om jag inte visste att isen var väldigt tjock. Fantastisk ljudupptagning som vanligt👍🏻
beautiful! 👍✌🖖
Every time I see that Trangia Triangle I weep.
Super 👍👍
Hello Erik, Today is the day I hope to find success in clearing snow from the river for this season's Family ice skating rink. Thanks for such a great edit here. *

Looks amazing! I went skating myself in Stockholm recently, it was really great. I saw that your carry a Nalgene water bottle in your other videos, do you have issues with the water freezing? Do you carry it in a insulated sleeve?

Thanks for the video Erik! I would love to know what the boots you use are? They look like they are compatible for skating and ski?
They are Alpina Alaska bc. I have the same bindings on the skis, Rottefella BC. Thanks!
Wow perfect wolf Masha Allah
