two weeks back my cars clutch plate severely heated and smoke came from bonnet of the car in bumper to bumper traffic at very steep hilly road of Coorg dirstric🌡🌋. After watching this video now i clearly understood cluch useing skill....after 22 years of driveing😀 thankyou.

When i was learning to drive car...i went to hill near my village...i overtake a truck and mistakenly goes on gear forth and then engine was suddenly off....that time i use the method no 3 and car's tyres were spinning like movie seen...but i made it... Then truck driver just give the gesture of ...nikal pehli phursat mai. It was thrilling experience 😂...

I learned this in only 1 day of hill driving. And i also wanna share my thoughts which are:-
Do not 'over rev' the engine which can cause tyre slip and you loose all control over ur staring capabilities. This kind of situation happens when u are going on hilly areas which has ice formed on surface or in rainy days when the water is flowing downward. Because of it u loose the traction due to high rev and tyre slip, the car may slip left or right from the front or downward and u can not stear out ur way to stabilize the car.
And also when you go to a hilly place where the road is only 2 lane and there's traffic on ur lane, please maintain a good distance from the front and back vehicles because if you over rev ur vehicle in a steep inclination and put the hand break down you may crash in the back of the vehicle which was in front of you. When you over rev it and the car go faster then you assumed and u didn't had enough space between you and the vehicle in front, you may crash into them when they suddenly break.
Same can happen to the back, when you put the hand break down n then rev engine, the car may go down before engine can overcome the backward motion n you crash your car from the vehicle standing behind you.
What ppl usually do is they keep their vehicles as close as possible to the vehicle standing in front of them and when the other person's vehicle start to roll back due to lack of forward motion, they crash in your vehicle, or you give too much acceleration to the engine and you suddenly pickup high speed n then crash into the vehicle standing in front of you.
And the most important lesson never turn ur engine off while driving downhill to save fuel because the staring can lock while you drive and it won't matter if the key was in ignition or not, it'll still get lock and you may crash anywhere including falling downhill from the side of the road which is scary and no 5 star rated feature rich car can save you from that.
With time you'll learn to drive perfectly and will have greater command & control on peddles, handbreak and staring while driving on hilly area's so don't stress while driving ur car for the same.

Second technique only works for experienced drivers. But the first one works without so much hurdles.
Engine braking.. During slope.. And applying little brake during curves.. Excellent👍

This was really awesome. I had uphill experience with fully loaded car and my car was stopping while picking using clutch and acceleration trust me 60 degrees uphill with turn is scary. Wish I had knew handbrake skill then.

Aao kbhi hmare Himachal me agar road slope dekhne Hain 😂 btw nice explanation. But we mostly don't use breaks on uphils we just balance the car between clutch and accelerator 🙏

Bro give some tips how to balance car using clutch and accelerator me jab high hills pr aisa krta toh meri car ya band ho jati h tyre slip mere pass Swift vxi 1200 cc engine
It decreases clutch plate life.. always use 3rd method with triple pedalling method.. balancing should only be done when you need to move.. for stationary purposes it should not be used.. i have seen many do it.. sometimes it feels as if car is dancing 😂 forward n backward.. but i recommend not doing it..

You completely depend on your hand breaks. Imagine if they malfunction. Always advisable to learn hill pickup without using hand breaks.
Thts why u should take it for service on time
It is very hard to do hill pickup only by using foot break when you are in a very steep hill and there is another vehicle behind you adjacent to your car, and your car is 1000 cc😂

This varies from car to car. I hv done this a lot using second method in a scorpio easily but when i tried it in an alto for the first time it was more difficult. The handbrake method is the one that should be used as it is easier.
Yupp Even I tried in alto for driving licence test then I got to know that handbrake method is more convenient. In second method, my car always get stopped
Diesel engine will have more torque than petrol, just with half clutch diesel engine can take pickup without accelerator. But for petrol engine its all perfect combination of clutch and accelerator. Better to use hand brake method
Check if there's car in front and at the back if there s none practice clutch and brake....if there's car then use handbrake...
I'm still practicing the clutch and brake my success rate is 1 out of 3 tries...
So practice more....but not too much or the clutch will be expensive 😬...
Fair point. Scorpio has the bigger engine and has lots of torque even in the lower rev range. On the other hand torque is only so much in the Alto and that too high up in the rev range. Hill start is an ordeal in the Alto😖

Well Explained...in simple language with demo.. third method is an art to be mastered...during my learning days..my instructor would take me to a up slope area and make me practice the skill without the use of handbrake
That technique is very hard to do on 800cc vehicles...and easier to do with vehicles with more power

I never faced any issues with a Diesel car on clutch and brake technique. However I have switched to a petrol manual and it is very difficult to climb uphill during bumper to bumper traffic. That's why I viewed this video. My honda city 5th gen doesn't have enough low end torque which makes me nervous.
Fair point. To do a hill start in my Alto feels like an ordeal.
Handbrake technic is for underdogs, if you want better control use pedal break,
Initial Level:
Handbrake technique
Problem:
1. You have to coordinate between your hands and legs, which is unusual if you have not user this way earlier. Coordination failer will make the situation worse.
2. You have to give extra pressure on accelerator pedal, which may be bad scenario, if vehicle in front of you is very close.
3. You may lose control of vehicle and beginners can get nervous with more pressure on accelerator pedal.
4. Scientifically, you will be driving front wheel drive and jam your rear wheels with handbrake. Any coordination error will cause slip of tires.
5. If you are in jam, and use this technique for many times, it may effect you clutch badly, clutch plated may burn in some cases.
Pro level:
Release clutch half, it will jam your car wheels and then release your pedal breaks, now you can easily go on accelerator, no need to put extra pressure. Release clutch pedal full like the normal way and accelerate.

Gear and stearing control achha hai aisa mera dost bolta hai cause usko sath lekar hi mai gadi chalta hu cause bass 2 din hi chalai hai .
Sabse badi dikkat abhi jo apne video me dikhai wo hai.
Cause jab trafic lagti hai to pichhe vala kafi najdik gadi khadi karta hai so kafi problem hoti hai chadhai ke upar pick kar na.
Aur to aur muze iski practice bhi nahi hai to thoda darr hai..
Gadi thik thak chala leta hu bass reverse aur left side ka andaza nahi hai matlab left side ka tyre kaha se ja raha hai..

I had a little bit of the similar issue but not in my I20 which is manual but in my seletos which is manual too . Is it because of the newer clutch plates ? As I’ve found myself a little hesitant to accelerate in such position? Your solution ?
