Greatings from a Stuttgart fan ✌️ Just to let you know, Stuttgart is in a development process just as you are aswell. We have some games where we reach a similar peek quality to last year. The game against you was a game like this. You will likely see us more regularly dominating games like this in the near future. Our team is slowly finding itself. You are on a great way and Im sure you can take a big learning lesson out of this game. Its early in the season and the sooner you get leasson like this the better. Im pretty sure a rematch in a couple months would look much close than this game, maybe we took you by surprise. I wish the old lady all the best for the future!

Hey Beppe, I follow your channel for several years now and this was maybe the best or one of the best after game videos ever! Great job, the tactical and personal analysis was perfect. You are tackling the core issues and causes for bad performance, but at the same time calming the extremists who know only absolutes, which is unreal, and everything in the middle is reality. I completely agree with everything you said. I wish I could show this video to Motta and the players, its educational, constructive criticism and motivational. Top top top. Please keep it up and continue to add extra attention to the tactical analysis, particularly on the causes because that's really interesting as most people including myself don't have the capability to read the game and identify what exactly was the problem. But do it also when we win, its interesting also to see what we did and how we were able to outsmart the opponent and what caused our advantages and how we won a game. We all see lineups and formation but what we don't see is how that actually works on the field and why. Take care man. Greetings from a Croatian true Juventino from Ireland.

It's a Stuttgart tactic to keep the ball with the golakeeper until the opponent starts the press and then to quickly play forward since the first line of the opponent then is out of position. I think Motta recognised this and that is why Juve did not press Nübel when he had the ball.

    • @Lukas-gc3wn
      @Lukas-gc3wn วันที่ผ่านมา +11

Exactly, that 'luring press' is very dangerous for high pressing teams as Stuttgart is brutal on switching from defense to offense

I'm not an expert, but to me, Stuttgart looked like Motta's Bologna last year. Starting from behind, passing triangles, and high pressing. Hoeness defeated Motta with his own weapon, and maybe that is just what Motta needed to understand some things! Anyway, Calma, we will be only stronger after this!

  • @abrarcalculas
    @abrarcalculas วันที่ผ่านมา +9

I think a lot of the issues encountered was because of Danilo (not because of the penalty, the yellow card or the lack of challenge that led to the cancelled goal). With Danilo, rotation kind of stopped and we did not see Kalulu moving up the pitch. This was partly to compensate for Danilo and his lack of speed when falling back.
The second source of issues was the midfield. Thuram, Fagioli and McKennie does not go together; you need Locatelli or someone to sit back and allow the other two to be more progressive. Great that these issues are being encountered early on so there's hope to get over these in the coming days.

    Very very good analytics! Compliments.
Buuut 😉one thing you are (imho) missing - what makes you shure that Hoeneß wouldn't react to the mentioned shift in the Juventus tactics? Because that is something he is known for. Of course he had games he managed really bad (Freiburg - Stuttgart at the first game this season), but that happens rarely. He often is able to adjust within the game, sometimes with different players, sometimes just adjusting the positioning of single players.Edit: I forgot - all the best for you and your team. I myself and a couple of my friends do like Juve very much!

I loved your take on how the game could have been changed from the 10th minute on. As you did on the tacticalpad, looking at the structure of the opponent, you could easily visualize a response to the opponent's game just by rearranging the players on the pitch. Amazing conclusion!
Also, the triangles you've spotted that have blocked our wings is top. And the thing you said about stepping up and protecting Conceição.

TBF This project not really aiming for direct impact . That`s why Juve appointed Motta not Conte who like to give younger player chances in many games .
But indeed last night was tactical or system error combining with less experience in term of finding quick solution. Some coach will not wait until half time to change tactic or sub the player if in field those first idea clearly not working after 30 minutes .
Hope Motta can find how to make his tactic more flexible every minutes , because once the opponent understand our pattern weakness , they will keep drilling it and you need to change it on the fly to avoid those troubles

    About the pressing of Stuttgart.
I don't think this would've happened to such a degree of we at least had Gatti and Cambiaso on the field. Nevermind other players. I understand everyone takes Motta's word that every player is a starter as golden, however we must agree that some players are levels above others in this squad. And we were forced into this situation by injuries. You can't expect Danilo Savona and Cabal, with Thuram and McKennie to be able to play out of high press.
What was worrying was how lost we looked when Stuttgart were shifting positions and kept being dynamic. Players didn't know where and when to cover/press

On one side I'm so happy because he is one of the best and he is extending with us in a 2nd, sorry co- goalkeeper role. The 433 was naturally stretching our cohesiveness into really thin thread on our defensive wings. So much so it left a handicapped situation at all of our sectors. IMO Mister was stress testing our boys for sure. It's like swimming training with breast stroke but with the legs just straight up doing nothing. I swear i commented the same thing in Allegri's era lmao. His DNA lives on lol. It was just risky it drained the physically and mentally.
Danillo's case was like of Illing Jr for being too long at benchwarmer, the instinct kinda worn off. I could be wrong knowing he is at the end of his career.
While I dont think 433 is feasible in this hellish season, in devil's advocate's way we need to test it sometime or another.

They wanted it more than Juventus wanted it. I think Motta did right by keeping Cambiasso Locatelli and Gatti on the bench if he play tired players it is more likely to get them injured. At the moment as a whole the team needs to understand if they are stronger physically and it is more likely to concede they need to park the bus and make long balls for wide players to attack with the quality they got. The fouls on the Chico at the beginning should not let have gone unheard.

Very questionable starting lineup too with unfit McKennie and Danilo. Both players and coach thought about the next game more than the current one, and that should never happen.
The pros continue to far outweigh the cons, but after a lot of improvements in short time, the growth stalled. We need more improvements. Game management and more directness and less predictability in attacking third are the biggest opportunities for growth IMO.

Attack Mckennie and Savona deep in which not only Fagioli but also Concencao had to come back and help leaving little for any kind of counter attack with Dusan isolated. Dusan is not got 1v1 which showed on that long ball he got from Fagioli in the first half. We should have put Fagioli in Mckennie spot and had Loca playing back.

I love JUVE, & am trying to stay positive. Because Motta is a new coach with few experiences. I can say that Motta learned how to coach, had some ideas so hes trying to realize em, then he leveled up from 40 (bologna) to level 120 (juve), then he faced the reality that it doesn't lean on math tactics always... theres some big games where "coach studies" will not work, big hard and complicated games needs a lot of urgent decisions & impovisations unfortunately Motta will learn it at Juve.

I'm definitely more intrigued in watching this Juve over Allegri's Juve so as a fan I am pleased. I don't blame Allegri for boring football either, last year we supposed to have Pogba but the court decided to trash one of the biggest talents in the sport. I don't have super high expectations, there is a lot to still be done. I have no doubt the team will want to respond to inter. Yildez thats a 10 on your back. Unfortunately, I am not doing well after yesterday's loss. This is not because we lost but because of the poor performances of our last games. We barely score a goal, unless it is a penalty or an auto goal. This is surely not acceptable. How can we face Inter with such a performance? We have all critisized harshly and rightly so the way Allegri managed Juventus for the last few years and I would not like to see the same issue happening again. There seems to be no idea of how we play and we definitely do not have any player with the likes of Higuain or Trezeguet who are capable of constant scoring. There is no continuity. It's only a different formation and change of players game after game. No continuity. I beg to differ that this season our objection is not to win any trophies. This is only an excuse. Juventus objectives have always been to win against every team we face.

G😊😊d afternoon Beppe. Excellent analysis. The reality is a loss is part of the game and it had to happen at some point. The issue is despite the come back against Leipzig, they and VFB are not even the top German sides. Against Bayern it could have been 0-6. Motta needs time given the huge step up and the new players brought in some with no Serie A experience. But the overall blame is on Giuntoli. He is no Beppe Marotta. Overpaid on every player including Luiz and Koopmeiners but the Kalulu deal looks great. Nico Gonzalez is not an upgrade and the truth is Juve should have gone with Conte. Motta's Bologna didn't score much more than you last season and he was fast tracked for the wrong reasons. A younger face than Allegri but the same ideology. It seems the Emperor could have no clothes. This Sunday, full Inter dominance and maybe 4-6 goals for us. Forza Inter!!!

Actually our squad depth is not great and to think otherwise is foolish... What Giuntoli said about our squad being complete is total hogwash and we need all the help we can get with the amount of games that we have tis season... At least allow Pogba to continue until the end of the season and also we need a clinical striker as well as a solid defender to slot alongside Gatti (selling huijsen is a mistake and after missing out on Calafiori, we really need to splash some cash in January)... Squad depth is what worries me most... This team can play and win games and they are practically quite new to each other's playing style so once that understanding is there we will be the best team in the land and possibly Europe as well

After the following corner at around 27:10 McKennie hesitates to help Conceicao. Again, no fancy play, just a corner.
27:50 Conceicao receives a ball surrounded by Stuttgart players. Cabal for some reasons runs up the entire pitch. When Conceicao predictably loses possession, Cabal is way out at the wing somewhere. He sprints back to challenge the midfielder, so McKennie, Thuram, Danilo and Kalulu decide to just watch the ball. Then a pass to #9 and Perin deflects the shot onto the post. No fancy movements by Stuttgart in this play either.
Yes, we didn't know how to answer to their tactics. But I had the feeling that the confusion made the players too passive and intimidated after a while, so they started making silly mistakes.

I can't help but think that the board was too quick and rushed to sell and buy some players. Especially ones that know and experienced Serie A, whether they were youngsters or not.

We need like 500m to spend, and we need like 5-6 world class players, and only then we can call ourselves Juventus. We are rebuilding and all of that good stuff, but we simply lack quality. Giuntoli did great so far, but god knows we lack high quality players. We have a a solid base now, the team is growing, but we are miles away from proper Juve. Can we ever do it again, like in the old days? Highly doubt so, we will never see the peak 90's and 2000's. The highest quality Italian players are starting to leave Italy, because no one can afford them. Serie A lost its magic, and we will have a hell of a time going back to the top. Miles away, freaking miles away. Arabs came in and they fucked up the balance we had. Man City and PSG shouldn't exist on this level. I don't even know how they can spend all that money and FFP doesn't exist. If Juve spent 10m more then they should tomorrow, we would be crucified the next day. I am disgusted with everything, I am DEPRESSED!

Rugani played for Juventus for a decade and never looked good. Danilo isn’t the answer but neither is Rugani 😂 We don’t have much depth ,but this is a squad currently working on a rebuild under a new manager, it’s normal to have weak squad depth at this stage of a rebuild 🤷 Our starters have been solid, our depth hasn’t been so great on the other hand.

I've never seen us make so many incomplete passes. As you said when Douglas Luiz couldn't start, Fagioli should have taken his position creating chances & Thuram would have been perfect in the DM position cutting off Stuttgart's attacks.
I attack and blame Savona because so many times in the game when Stuttgart attacked us down that flank, you would find Concecaio in the right back position and Savona lost somewhere in the midfield. This was infuriating to watch. He is not experienced yet enough to be playing games from the start for us. Every pass he made was misplaced, he never even was close to defending against the opposition attacking, and he looked scared the whole game, he was bullied. Yildiz cannot become a star by playing the same exact style of play, runs, one step over, cut inside. That's predictable amateur play. It's true we didn't serve enough passes to Vlahovic, but when we did, he was incapable of holding up the ball, he would immediately lose it. This game portrayed a lot of weaknesses we have and we have been brushing off these weaknesses in games won against Lazio and the draw against Cagliari, but yesterday it could not be hidden. The match against Inter will not be a good one with this mentality and tactical ignorance from Motta.

I would be pissed off if they cancel it to us but actually from the rules it’s correct to cancel it because he’s using that body part to carry the ball. Even if it’s alongside his body the rules are clear.
