Magpies have a great memory, so I am sure it will come back to visit. It may also bring you shiny presents. I have read that before and of course seen it in The Detectorists.
That would be nice, but I dont think we imprinted it much and there are so many Magpies here to learn from its going to be a proper wild thing.
Another great video, Chill Bill! Could you show us a small video display of your favorite finds? We would really like to see your coins and relics! We live in Nebraska, USA. Our historical finds don't go back to Roman times!😊 Love your videos!
Historius In Alluvus! 😊
@@user-zd9ck2ef6ofellow Nebraskan here. East Central. Greatest State in the Union, if you like cows corn and soybeans with no mountains. LOL
Great idea, going to do it next.
2 out of 3's not bad! :)
@@kamurray67 Are you close to Kearney? My extended family lives in Ravenna, where you can find exactly nothing metal detecting.
That lovely Magpie has imprinted on you now. He/she may stay around for a while. Cheers, John. UK.
Thanks Bill! Great to see you out! Great rescue, and difficult for those that have never tried to rehabilitate a bird! Forever friend!
Zoia is a Dr Doolittle. Animals love her and talk to her.
So jealous. All the members of that family of birds are so smart.
lots of character
Such a beautiful magpie, Clem! He may stay close by! Very nice hunt, I'm glad to hear your bones weren't aching!❤
To thank you for your kindness, maybe the Magpie will bring you the shiny pretty things it finds!
We have several Magpie around the place. They like to try to steal the chicken eggs, rascals!
love the Magie Clem I hope it lives a full life and repays your kindness with birdsong. With due credit to The Unthanks ...
The priest, he says we're wicked
For to worship the devil's bird
Ah, but we respect the old ways
And we disregard his word
For we know they rest uneasy
As we slumber in the night
And we'll always leave out a little bit of meat
For the bird that's black and white
Such charismatic birds... so smart!
@@ChillBill1 your kindness to sick and injured animals says a lot about you and your wife Clem. Wishing you health and happiness and lots of good finds. Keep swinging that coil and turning the soil for treasure and good fortune will be your companion always!
Love all these bits of metal, coins etc being dug up. True treasure hunting. Never thought a magpie could be cute, but there it is.
I love the "Bag seallll!!!" song. Never gets old to me.
Great seeing you and Zoia again. Love the Magpie Clem and hope it stays around and visits back once in awhile. Miss seeing you and hope we get to see you more often. ❤
Ill try for a few more before the end of the year.
Hope he has a good life of freedom, great rescue Bill.
He is out and about now with his flock
@@ChillBill1 Nice, WTG Bill.
Good day Bill, glad the summer decided to drop in on you! We've been having a beautiful long stretch of great weather on Canada's west coast. No magpies here but lots of crows, ravens & Eagles. Have a good one. Mike.
Haven't had to try and save a Buzzard yet!
Hopefully Mr Magpie doesn't poop on your shoulder..
Loved the video Bill., magpie was adorable, love your humour too 🙏
You are still the Man!
Thanks
Hi Bill, it's great to see another video from you! It has been 5 months since I last saw your video. I have missed you greatly.
Thanks
Great finds Bill,thanks!
:)
Great to see you and your wife doing so well! We just got brushed by hurricane Beryl, just some heavy winds but waiting for the rest of them to follow. Hope you have a wonderful summer!
Glad you missed the worse of it. Hows the island on the social front, last I heard it was getting fraught.
@@ChillBill1 Being an eight hour drive from the capital, over rough roads, helps. We will be in North America for a month in August-September and for another three or four weeks in Séranon (Alpes-Maritimes) in November. We are hoping that by the time we get back the security situation would be much more stable.🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing, wonderful video CB🍾🥂
Welcome back Clem . Another great video, thanks for sharing. Take care my friend.
Hi Mr Bill, many moons ago my sister and I nursed a Magpie back to health. We were advised to keep contact to a minimum so as not to make it too tame. Our patient held a different view and on her release Maggie became a much loved member of the community. My dad once remarked that, “apart from Thelma, the Tavern’s barmaid, she was the most pampered bird in Kent. “
Ps is it safe to type ‘Corvid ‘ whilst not wearing a mask?
As you saw it didn't get too tamed. It hasnt popped back to say hello but Magpies are ever present here.
Thanks Bill, great video
:)
he will visit for sure, lovely show
❤❤❤
:)
❤❤ I always enjoy your videos! Awww he was a beautiful bird
👍
Great videos as always! Will love for you to incorporate again your wife doing sketches, she is a great artist !
Great idea!
Thanks , great video!
Ahh the mighty Chill Bill!
You know,I don’t get notifications, for some reason, but it makes your new videos all the more cherished!
You have a lovely bird.
Oh! Your wife,of course🥰,but I was referring to that beautiful Corvid,that magpie,too.
Listen,Clem:
You are a brilliant human being.
I want to read your books!
Just name one,to serve as a starting point.
Wow, thanks
Did the Roman’s visited Ireland and the Vikings too because next year I’m going there to find Vikings treasure and other treasures from the 1580’s-1600’s treasure fleet.
Dont think Romans got there but there will be a sprinkle of artifacts
He probably won't go far, if he can find you - Magpies can get quite tamed and he'll miss you!
would be nice
@@ChillBill1 I don't feed them, but a friend does & they get very tame - she feeds them mince beef - these being Aussie Maggies - they are smart birds and I'm sure they know who their mates are. Keep well up there.
He is beautifuk!
😀
brass and lead...perhaps a bell clapper?
Don't be surprised, Bill, if your feathered boy refuses to leave. If so there's nothing to do but love him.
🤞
I have done the same thing with another species of bird. Raised a fledgling crow and released the bird.
very satisfying
Looking good!
Thanks!
Hi Bill ,your heart is beautiful.
😀
😊
:)
I’ve watched a couple of mud larking videos & it’s always interesting to see what can be found. Watching from the U.S. ❤
Thanks 👍
Nice
Thanks
keep up the great rescue vids and treasure hunting.
Every year there is another critter or cat that needs a hand. :)
"Freebird"
😀
How did you get a magpie? Thankyou for the video. Bill.Good to hear from you.😊
Harry you must have missed where they found it on the ground after it fell out of its nest. It was too young to fly. They took it in to save it from the hungry French cats.
It tried to fly before it had properly fledged so it ended up in a hedge. Zoia found it and got Fifi the cat to flush it out and then dived into a ditch to grab it. We fed it for 2 weeks until it was flying around the kitchen and then we let it go.
Please sir, trim your nose hairs.
.
Happy hunting.
