You have a very good taste in music Autumn, :) , I recommend you the bands. Wire, Joy Division, The Sound, Manic Street Preachers, Sopor Aeternus, Joji Hirota, Jah Wobble, Jaco Pastorius, Can, Killing Joke, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Nico, Miles Davis, The Durutti Column, Bill Laswell, Peter Gabriel, Magazine and Rowland S. Howard. Are a little bit different to the music that you normally listen to, but i'm pretty sure that are some of them are gonna like you, or are least what I hope. You do great videos, cheers from Chile ;)
Oh my god! I feel like crying right now! I've been searching for a person with a similar music taste, but who knows about bands I don't and...somehow I found you. I just want to thank you, you beautiful person. You have no idea how much this video means to me!
I knew about Chelsea Wolfe from long, long time ago but I never had such interest in listening to her song and I truly don't know why. Now I'm listening to her while I'm watching your video and I think her music really fits you. Thanks Autumn for (re)discovering me this! ♥
If you like dark ambient music, I'd highly recommend you to listen to Moi Dix Mois and Malize Mizer, if you never did :) they have some pretty amazing music, I used to listen to them a lot when I was goth because I always loved dark ambient music! I'm sure you will love Moi Dix Mois!
Thank you SO much for pointing out Azam Ali, I love her voice!!! Since a few months I'm totally into the "arabic" sounds in music, must be my far Persian roots kicking in after 54 years hahahaha.
Hi hi. My name is Johnny, I'm a gay 24 year old male from NYC. I've been meaning to comment for a while now. I love your videos, I can't stop watching them because you are such a captivating, intelligent and interesting person! I've never thought about anyone else on youtube before, not nearly as much. I enjoy learning about mental disorders and I myself suffer from bad anxiety and OCD, and I'm always convinced I have something else as well like BPD, but I see a therapist and psychiatrist and they both highly disagree and think I'm just neurotic. Even so, I love learning more and more and not only do you help teach me but you're also such a beautiful, soft spoken individual that I love watching :) I was so surprised to see Akira Yamaoka was on your list of your favorite composers....I absolutely love his work and listen to the soundtracks of Silent Hill just to relax sometimes. No one else I really know listens to Akira, so it was a real treat to see someone as awesome as you being a fan of him...as well as other artists. I agree with another user, you should try Portishead. Fantastic band! Anyway, I'd love to chat some time by email or something but if not I understand ^-^ Either way, keep up the videos and you are above the negativity....always!! You've gone through so much worse than some ignorant person's youtube comment. Much love
This is one of the best vids I've ever seen on TH-cam!!! Great job on the links, and I'm a tremendous fan of video game soundtracks including Silent Hill and MGS! Tomb Raider is my first love as it helped me get back in touch with my feminine side after I had given up on transitioning!!!
I love Akira Yamaoka. Silent Hill 2 is still one of my favorite games after all these years. I was tickled to hear you say that cuz very few people that I know share the love.
Finally, another quality addict! :D I don't know some one in real life who is as picky with quality as I am. :D And we have a very similar taste in music :)
This has been something I''ve been wondering for awhile since I started watching your videos. And I'd say all your suggestions are pretty rad. Thanks for sharing :>
Hello I found you and your channel tonight and have watched so many videos on this one seeing and hear your passion makes me happy and it's so lovely to see Carry on doing what your doing I'm gonna be a long time fan
Thanks for sharing Autumn. You seem to have a good repertoire of music. I too collect music from different soundtracks specially, in my case, from movies. Here are some composers that I have come across: Hans Zimmer (Black Hawkdown, Angels & Demons, King Arthur, The Last Samurai), Atli Orvarsson (The Eagle), Danny Elfman (Hellboy), Harry Gregson (Kingdom of Heaven), James Horner (Avatar), James Newton Howard (Blood Diamond, Michael Clayton), John Debney (The Passion of The Christ), Trevor Jones (The Last of The Mohicans), Howard Shore (TLOR).
Actually pretty stunned that Emilie Autumn wasn't on this list! You always struck me as a fan. She's a lovely industrial singer and violinist with a really unique sound. You should definitely give her a listen, especially her Enchant and Opheliac albums.
You look so much like Amy Lee. I was very surprised that you didn't mention her xD Buuuut you mentioned Yuki Kajiura who I happen to like very much , especially the girl group she has 'Fiction Junction', such beautiful voices live. Also thank you for uploading these videos, watching them always changes my mood to uber happy ^_^
DJ snake & Lil Jon - Turn down for what, weirdest video ever!!!, by the way I love you, you make the best videos and have an awesome taste in music!!! :D
In this video you remind me of Floor Jansen - another great female singer :D I don't know most of those artists. Gotta look them up. Thanks for sharing!
I love your taste in video game soundtracks! I can't go more than a few days without listening to Heavens Divide or the song she does for MGS5 Sins Of The Father. Akira Yamaoka is really good too I love the creepy atmosphere his music helps to create. I wish he was working on the new Silent Hills game that would be fantastic!
HEY AUTUMN, I WAS EXPECTING FOR THAT SUBJECT, REALLY ENJOYED SOME OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND WAS INTERESTING TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR MUSIC TASTES, I´M A SH FAN TOO LOL..
Omg you like Grimes too!? You should definitely listen to Crystal Castles, you would love them. And I know you said you dont like mainstream artists that much but you should try to get into Lady Gaga, shes my favorite!
I'm glad you already know Chelsea Wolfe. I was about to tell you about her and how you both are similar. As you are into dark ambient, I would suggest you to have a listen at Grouper. It is depressing but very beautiful.
Wow thats crazy, I have like the exact same taste in music! Love the game soundtracks!!! I have many soundtracks on on cd and on digital. The cool thing that I discovered about the nintendo 3ds is that just about every game that came out for a couple years included a cd with the games soundtrack. Some of them are really good. I love the sad tracks, some of them make me cry sometimes lol!
i have every silent hill track on my computer, and i recognised "Tender Sugar" right away because its one of my favourites, but i had no idea who actually sang it until now. I was actually really surprised to see Akira Yamaoka on your list because i didnt think anyone else liked the SH soundtrack like i do lol.
Akira Yamaoka and Yoko Kanno are two great artist. The Cowboy Bebop OST and GITS OST are two of my favorite albums of all time. And, of course the Silent Hill soundtracks are grand.
Woo Akira Yamaoka! I loved the Silent Hill soundtracks when he was the one who composed music for those games! I really liked Theme of Laura Room of Angel and You're Not Here. I was so disappointed when spotify got rid of the majority of the Silent Hill soundtracks :/ I didn't know Azam Ali was in Logan's Shadow, that's so awesome! Logan's Shadow was my favorite game on the PSP lol. Eurythmics have some pretty good songs! Chelsea Wolfe and Grimes are amazing as well! OMG I love Gerudo Valley by Koji Kondo probably my favorite song in any game I've played! The weirdest music video I've seen was an animated one about a piano chasing a guy, but sadly I don't remember what the song was or who it was by :/ Aphex Twin has done a ton of weird music videos, and the music video of RJD2's song Small Plans is pretty odd too. Oh have you heard of Sara Noxx? You might like her music!
Thank you so much for making this video, I also have an incredibly eclectic taste in music and now I've added so many new songs to my playlist! I know chances of my comment reaching you are low especially considering this is a seven year old video comments section, but since you said you like to constantly discover new music I would love to know if you have listened to Heilung, they play pre-viking age songs with traditional instruments, they have such a unique sound I'm yet to find anything like them, also Maria Franz one of the bands main vocalists has such a beautiful and powerful voice, should you decide to give them a listen I really recommend watching Norupo and Fylgia Ear. Anyway, sorry for the long comment, greetings from Mexico ♥️
I wish I could listen into more music as you have, it's great! Some bands I think you would enjoy are Evanescence (which has been mentioned before) Within Temptation, Emilie Autumn, Nightwish and for the classical side (if you like choral pieces) Ola Gjeilo and Frank Ticheli, particularly Earth Song by the last composer. =)
Since your interested in Japanese music I think you would love the singer Kanon Wakeshima. And if your interested in male singers Yuya Matsushita hopefully you will add it to your lists!
While I may not have known the other bands/people (Gunna check 'em out though! Don't you doubt me~) I DEFINITALY knew Akira Yamaoka and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Yuki Kajiura. I am a GIGANTIC fan of Silent Hill I love the story, the games, the ideas, the music, and heck where Silent Hill was based off of? Centralia, PA? I live in PA! I just love Silent Hill so, so much and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn has a wonderful voice- ah I've rambled! Woops! Also Yuki Kajiura is amazing as well I love her music (and the group Kalafina) I'm so amazed we have a lot in common this is so wonderful to me! ! o u o
I know you said you don't necessarily listen to all that much mainstream music, but I think you would like in this moment. The lead singer is a extremely powerful woman and I just find her extremely unique and wonderful. The Fighter is an extremely emotional but amazing song.
I have not listened to many of their songs, but I like Massive Attack. I love Annie Lennox and the Eurythmics. I don't play video games, but do enjoy some Japanese Rock. If you like dark or gothic songs, try the Visual Kei group Malice Mizer, especially their stuff from around year 2000. I like music by Gackt and Hyde and L'a3k En Ciel and Miyavi (all J-Rockers). My favorite singer and bands of all time are Davey Havok and two of his bands, AFI and Blaqk Audio. Given your like of some electronica subgenres, you might like Blaqk Audio, and I highly recommend listening to some AFI as well. AFI just resonates with my experience so strongly. Listening to their music got me through some very rough times, as cliche as it sounds, they saved my life.
Since you mentioned dark ambient as one of your favourite genres I'd recommend Mortiis. Especially the early albums Keiser av en Dimensjon Ukjent (lit. Emperor of a Dimension Unknown), Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør (lit. The Spirit Who Rebelled) and Crypt of the Wizard.
Awesome taste you have, PD if you like bizarre videos, try japanesse bands videos from visual kei they are mostly strange, but if you like female singers and rare, I suggest pamyu pamyu ninja. and pom pom
Wow you've got some great tastes (Akira Yamaoka bias). I'm impressed by Azam Ali, I never heard of her until now. I had to favorite this video so I don't lose the list :D. Hellz yeah! I love Azam Ali and Niyaz!
I used to listen to Grimes loads, and still do a little bit (I'm more of a rock/metal girl now) but I also heard of her through Vanessa on TH-cam.

Video Ideas: Favorite movies, favorite actresses/actors, favorite TV shows, video games, favorite clothes/haul! I just want to know more about you!
Since you mentioned dark ambient as one of your favourite genres I'd recommend Mortiis. Especially the early albums Keiser av en Dimensjon Ukjent (lit. Emperor of a Dimension Unknown), Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør (lit. The Spirit Who Rebelled) and Crypt of the Wizard.
this is so much music!
You're a brilliant, sweet, beautiful and caring soul and I adore you completely.

So many Danish musicians on here, that's awesome! :D
(I'm Danish)
Ok definitely listen to this song if you used to watch toonami when you were younger. Its called "hiru no tsuki" outro to outlaw star
So I listened to Chairlift-bruises. I like it!!!!
Also, I feel the same with the Silent Hill music. The games are amazing, so is the music!
You are. My woman Crush
Wow you've got some great tastes (Akira Yamaoka bias).
I'm impressed by Azam Ali, I never heard of her until now.
I had to favorite this video so I don't lose the list :D.
BTW since this video is 4 years old, do you have any intentions of updating it, maybe you have some new favorites you want to expose your audience to ?
If you like the Storm, check out Mew, the guy in the Storm plays bass in that band! They're awesome!
Miranda Sex Garden, UK. As i'm from the U.K, not sure if you've heard them or not. Originally a trio of madrigal singers comprising Kelly McCusker, Jocelyn West and main vocalist Katharine Blake. it's more on the darkwave than any other. “Madra”, the first album was entirely a cappella, with the songs all based on English renaissance verse, pesonally the most enchanting album.
For their second release, the mini album “Iris”, the sound evolved their own blend of their madrigal-styled vocals with sound of gothic rock, darkwave and ethereal wave.
The third album "Suspiria", it's very intresting, with up and down moods of music to say the least.
“Fairytales of Slavery”, the forth album difinitley more eerie, has a more rock feel, a creaky door with screams, that's the metaphor i choose to discribe it.
''Carnival of Souls", after 5 or 6 years out, they're back to what they do best enchanting or freaking people out with their amazing music. They're not for everyone, so if you don't like it.....
